Controls Execution and Management BA PM – VP

Citi is seeking a candidate with strong analytical skills in support of the monitoring, management and performance of key controls for the data operations / metric production process through the collection, analysis, review, reporting, documentation and communication of business controls needs and requirements

This is a challenging role and the successful candidate will require considerable independent judgment and initiative as well as the use of data analysis, business problem solving skills, attention to detail and strong project management skills.

Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, particularly with respect to providing feedback on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and any remedial actions required as part of controls assessments - excellent communication skills to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the building and implementation of key controls for metrics production process through the collection, analysis, review, reporting, documentation and communication of business controls needs and requirements
  • Support B&I metrics teams by consistent and appropriate approach to risk identification and develop an effective and efficient controls environment with the aim to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assess design adequacy of controls, test operating effectiveness of implemented controls and advise / support B&I metrics control owners on the effective design and implementation of controls
  • Executes assessment of development, monitoring and testing design for controls operated by the B&I metrics owners in line with the applicable Policies, Procedures and Standards
  • Help coordinate governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e. Risk & Control Self-Assessment) as required by the MCA Standard including
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., technology, finance, risk, and business units) to monitor project status and ensure alignment with Citi’s Data Governance Policy and standards
  • Identify and address barriers to timely execution, mitigating risks and driving solutions
  • Work with risk and defense teams (2nd and 3rd lines of defense) to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and risk management best practices
  • Leverage analytical tools such as SQL, Excel and data visualization platforms such as Tableau - to produce data analysis outputs to support decision-making

  • Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience in the Banking or Finance industry, with experience in data management, governance, or quality programs
  • Experience with data concern management frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Citi’s technology architecture and multiple asset classes such as Banking, Interest Rates, Credit, FX, Commodities, Equities, and Prime is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong risk and control mindset, with experience working with 2nd and 3rd lines of defense functions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with large, complex, and diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to navigate complex systems and management processes.


Education:  Bachelor’s/University degree required; Master’s degree preferred
