Vice President, Recovery and Resolution Planning Lead

This position is a part of the Central Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) team within the Finance organization of Citi. The RRP team supports a range of high-profile regulatory initiatives central to the safety and soundness of the firm and bank. In particular, the RRP team is responsible for the development, oversight and maintenance of the 165(d) and Insured Depository Institution (IDI) Resolution Plans and the Citigroup and CBNA Recovery Plans. Additionally, this team is responsible for facilitating or advising international regulatory requirements and inquiries related to the firm and bank’s Recovery and Resolution strategies.

This position will be responsible for driving the strategy and structure of specific content within the Recovery Plans and Resolution Plans, including content related to material legal entities (MLE), core business lines (CBL), critical operations (CO), global functions (GF) and the execution of the annual designation process. This position will also be responsible for facilitating central reviews of international recovery plans and responses to host regulatory inquiries.

Communicating complex ideas through the development of concise presentations to senior management and regulators is critical. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop a level of subject matter expertise within RRP, play an integral role in one of Citi’s key strategic priorities, and have significant exposure to senior management and regulators. The candidate will be given the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of many key facets of Citi, including direct interaction with senior executives responsible for Citi’s legal entity structure, product offerings, business franchises, functional teams, balance sheet and liquidity management, capital, M&A, derivatives, and other operations and functions across the firm globally.

While this is a Finance position, the RRP team has significant engagement with operations and technology, financial and risk reporting, businesses (Markets, Services, Banking, Wealth and USPB), jurisdictional legal regimes and bankruptcy laws; financial market utilities, and the regulatory considerations of home and host jurisdictions in which Citi operates. The candidate will support these efforts by leveraging their analytical skills to better articulate and present the various assumptions and outputs supporting Citi's regulatory strategies and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Lead the design and strategy of MLE, CBL, CO, GF chapter content for the Recovery and Resolution Plans by partnering with subject matter experts in multiple functions, businesses and jurisdictions
• Execute the annual designation of Citi’s MLEs, CBLs and COs
• Facilitate central reviews of international recovery plans and ownership of the related procedure
• Build consensus from senior leaders to ensure accuracy and alignment of regulatory messaging
• Provide updates to the Head of RRRP and other senior executives on the status of key strategic deliverables
• Incorporate feedback from various stakeholders engaged throughout the plan submission process
• Draft other regulatory and senior management communications related to RRP

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred;
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Significant intellectual curiosity and desire to learn how Citi’s conducts its activities, often at the most granular level, in order to develop subject matter expertise;
• Superior attention to detail and diligence to ensure internal and external expectations are met sufficient to withstand scrutiny of senior executives, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense, and regulators;
• Ability to discern open-ended, ambiguous mandates, regulatory requests or guidance, and recommend an appropriate course of action;
• Ability to influence and build strong relationships with people at varying levels across the organization;
• Must be a team player while also demonstrating an ability to work independently in a fast-paced and matrixed environment while multitasking and meeting strict deadlines;
• Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field such as economics, finance or accounting is preferred.
