Strategic Ledger Data Lead
The Strategic Ledger program is the implementation of new General Ledger and Contract Sub-Ledger solution for all legal entities, countries, and products for Citi. The overall Data Lead for this program will be responsible for managing a global data team across data quality, data governance, master data management, data conversion and reconciliation, and defining common intake and output templates for all inbound and outbound integrations. Another key component of the data work will be overseeing and driving the refinement of the end to end finance data architecture for each pass through accounting and event based accounting release. This role requires strong global banking experience along with strong understanding of banking data structures and products. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for defining and executing the data strategy for the Strategic Ledger. Full management responsibility for multiple data teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. Role will be a direct report to the overall Strategic Ledger program lead.
Responsibilities:
- Structure the global data team across data quality, data governance, master data management, data conversion, data reconciliation, and inbound/outbound data integration
- Direct offshore data lead in the mobilization of new offshore data utility capability, including structuring teams, hiring, and defining team roles and responsibilities
- Define the global model for managing data activities including "follow the sun" approach and onshore/offshore hands off and cadence
- Work with Finance Data Architect to drive the refinement of the end to end finance data architecture for each pass through accounting and event based accounting release for Strategic Ledger
- Plays a part in setting and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern data policies
- Full management responsibility of team, including management of people, budget and planning
- Responsible for helping drive upstream and downstream adherence to data standards
- Partners with finance, technology and external providers in delivery of role
- Often requires development of new concepts and approaches to solving issues affecting data
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned
- Appropriately assess risk when data decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry required
- In depth knowledge of banking products/systems and how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function.
- Extensive experience leading large, global data teams for finance transformation programs is required
- Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.
- Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.
- Frequently involved with a variety of broad based and complex issues requiring conceptual thinking.
Education:
- Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
