Solutions Lead, Director
The Solutions Lead; Director is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Recognized subject matter expert within one area. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Is an acknowledged authority both within and outside area of expertise. Typically, a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication is typically required. Provides advanced judgment and conducts in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions. Required to think beyond existing solutions, assumptions or current knowledge of sophisticated areas. Significant impact on a function and/or the business through making decisions that determine technical approaches and strategies for the area.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the direction-setting, execution of strategy, issue resolution and accountable delivery head for multiple programs.
Provide strategic direction and feedback with respect to initiative or project creation, alignment to business goals, stakeholder management, and executive communications.
Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, organizations and business heads.
Lead the facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of cross functional macro level topics within/across programs and with Senior Management. Identify and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established projects of work.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project scope definition meets business objectives.
Collaborate with Project Sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business goals.
Manage the process with other departments if resources are being borrowed.
Drive adherence to program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery and leverage across the project.
Manage the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.
Manage the identification of risks which impact project delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Co-ordinate and articulate the execution strategy, vision and implementation approach for strategic payment control solutions.
Partner with technology, inter and intra LoB teams, and lines of defense teams to synchronize execution, to expose dependencies, to evaluate execution risks, to escalate issues, to assess status, and to bring reporting transparencies to the broader organization.
Drive best practice execution and promote standardization and consistency for the payment control solutions.
Bring awareness, ideate improvements and solutions, and coordinate relationships to related programs as necessary.
Ensure all process and technology implementation for the controls meets Operations’ outcomes:
Safe - Well controlled environment – control framework, which is complete, timely, accurate and manageable
Efficient - Highly automated – emphasis on STP; no increase in manual work; exception-based processing. Simplified and consistent end-to-end process with clear roles and responsibilities across Operations and Finance
Client-centered- Evolves towards same day / real-time operations and visibility (reporting) for Treasury, Operations and clients
Functionally complete - Supports both product-level and legal-entity level views
Extensible design to accommodate future change
Leadership & Effective communication
Proficiency in negotiation to resolve conflicts, reach consensus and manage expectations
Problem solving to address challenges and obstacles that arise during implementation, identifying solutions and making informed decisions
Experienced leader building and fostering a collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork, trust, and mutual respect
Decision making - decisive & data driven to provide clear guidance and alignment
Adaptability: Ability to navigate the team through ambiguity and embrace change
High emotional intelligence to navigate the team through a complex matrix of stakeholders.
Domain expertise across Operations, and Technology functions
Large, complex implementation and transformation program expertise
Some proficiency in technology architecture, workflow, and tools to ensure efficient execution
Change Management: Ability to plan, execute and monitor implementation.
Payments Expertise – strong understanding of payment flows, types, and messaging
Knowledge of Markets, SSO, TTS, and Lending products from transaction booking to payments
Strong understanding of Citi Systems helpful
Wholesale Payments, Swift, commercial payment knowledge
Qualifications:
15+ years relevant experience in Banking and Finance
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
