The Investment Advisory Discretionary Solutions Manager will be part of the Citi Wealth Investment Advisory Programs team within Investment Solutions. The Investment Advisory Programs team are responsible for proactively enhancing our Investment Advisory Programs by continually evaluating our offering, in terms of investment products and Programs to both Citi Wealth Financial Advisors/Investors and ultimately to their clients.  

Responsibilities:

Manage a team of motivated individuals who are responsible for qualifying FAs for our Discretionary Programs and performing and conducting reviews of their strategies/investment approach on an initial and ongoing basis, with a detailed focus on investment process, dispersion analysis, performance, trading, etc.

Chair and curate materials for regular, scheduled governance meetings/committees which are responsible for reviewing discretionary strategies on an initial and ongoing basis with key stakeholders, as well addressing escalations/follow-ups and providing meeting minutes

For both BAU items and strategic projects, drive progress and provide thought leadership through close partnership with various stakeholders including Technology, Performance measurement team(s), Legal, Risk, Compliance Supervision others

Be one of the subject matter experts for the our Program offerings; Field questions from FA teams and others as it pertains to the Program(s), and deliver presentations/education sessions to various audiences related to Program updates and enhancements

Evolve and influence the strategic vision for the Program(s) to ensure robust oversight and governance, balancing with an FA's ability to effectively navigate and manage discretionary portfolios

Continue build-out and implementation of internal and third-party risk management, performance flagging and governance tools

Write business requirements and conduct UAT testing as required for various projects

Additional responsibilities include:

Partner closely with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to legal, compliance, risk, supervision and technology, as well as across the wider Investment Solutions team.

Qualifications:

10+ years experience

Accomplished change leader, can execute flawlessly in ambiguous and changing environments and demonstrates both a flexible and resilient approach

Must possess vision and passion for the transformation of the Citi Wealth Investment Advisory Programs; thought leadership, expertise in understanding trends in the fee-based programs industry, best practices and a perspective on how to enhance current state

Significant relevant experience managing and delivering high profile projects

Advanced understanding of various investment strategies and portfolio construction including equities, fixed income, ETFs, Mutual Funds, and options

Polished written/verbal communication skills with the ability to establish credibility and effectively influence a diverse array of stakeholders across varying levels of seniority

Effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability

Ability to effectively communicate and challenge FAs and other stakeholders when appropriate

Previous experience using portfolio analytic tools such as Blackrock Aladdin Wealth, Morningstar Direct and/or Bloomberg is a plus

Considerable experience working with Financial Advisors/Investors in the Investment Advisory / Managed Accounts industry, with a focus on Advisor Discretionary solutions

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders and organizations – pushes self and colleagues to higher levels of performance by actively listening and engaging in constructive dialogue

Treats people with respect and assumes the intentions of others are based on common purpose and shared goals

Ability to balance strategic thinking with process-oriented execution, with a high attention to detail and quality on both internal teamwork and external solutions providers

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
