Equity Research Sr Associate, Global Technology & Communications Super Sector - AVP - New York/San Francisco
The Research Sr Associate for the tech & communications super sector is a seasoned professional comfortable working at the frontier of the technology industry to understand and analyze the future of tech and its impact on industries, companies, and economies. This role offers a unique opportunity at the intersection of technology, venture capital, and public markets. The technology and communications super sector team will establish thought leadership through written research, multimedia, and events within and outside the firm on the impact that technology is having across all companies, industries and economies. The role requires deep intellectual curiosity, the ability to understand complex technologies and industries, and the presence to contribute to a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, developed written and oral communication skills, and an analytical mind are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external contacts. The senior associate will regularly assume informal/formal leadership within the team as well as helping to train new associates on the team.
Responsibilities:
- Citi Research focuses on delivering high quality investment insights to investors on a global basis with a high emphasis on independence and objectivity in its products and insights
- The Senior Associate will report directly to the global lead for the technology and communications super sector that includes software, semiconductors, hardware, and internet.
- Research: Leverage strong writing and organizational skills to contribute to the production of in-depth thematic research reports, regular industry level research, and real time updates on developments in technology.
- Modeling: Developing & maintaining industry level models and databases with an infallible attention to detail.
- Communication: Assist with client inquires and requests (internal and external)
- Events: Assist with coordination of firm hosted conference and attend industry events to conduct primary research.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years previous experience
- Experience in Investment Research or related field
- Good knowledge of and deep interest in the technology industry
- Experience in supporting senior equity research analysts
- Excellent inter-personal and writing skills
- Attention to detail
- Secure and maintain applicable licenses
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
