Enterprise Data Execution Lead - Managing Director
As part of Citi’s Technology and Business Enablement function, the Enterprise Data Office and Data Transformation team is responsible for defining and driving the Firm’s data strategy designed to achieve the highest data integrity standards and meeting regulatory expectations by:
Establishing and enforcing data-related policies with appropriate governance and oversight
Optimizing front-to-back technology architecture and data operating model
Provisioning best-practice tools and capabilities
Implementing data controls, including data quality measurement and reporting
Identifying strategic data enhancements and driving remediation
Leveraging innovative technologies e.g. AI, NLP
Building out a firmwide data operating model through domains
Creating support of the operating model to enable the organization to deliver timely accurate and complete data.
Citi is hiring a senior leader to lead the Firm’s Enterprise-wide Data Execution Management function, as a member of the Enterprise Data Office. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end operational process for managing data exceptions for enterprise data along with the management of our contractual data warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as strategic partner between data producers and consumers to ensure data requirements are fulfilled in a complete, accurate, and timely manner
Drive technical implementation of Data Quality (DQ) rules in associated data platforms (e.g., authorized data warehouses) based on business requirements
Partner with product and technology development team on data governance and exception management tools.
Develop metrics and reporting on exceptions and concerns, and escalate material issues to relevant forums
Centrally maintain data exceptions and data concerns identified through DQ rules, controls, and multi-system reconciliations
Manage E2E workflow and associated tooling for exceptions remediation
Partner across EDO and the firm remediation of data exceptions and data concerns per defined processes, meeting SLAs and regulatory expectations
Own overall operations support for the contractual data warehouse, ensuring data is provided for consumption as per defined SLAs and operating model
Monitor data acquisition into Contractual data warehouse vs. defined source SLAs; execute necessary ledger and product processor reconciliation
Manage the overall adjustment process as part of data quality review and reconciliation processes with proper controls, root cause tracking and reporting.
Review and validate Critical Data Element (CDE) population and integrity within contractual
Manage and maintain remediation of data exceptions in contractual data warehouse identified through key control processes
Drive the provisioning and adoption process for the target record layout for downstream construction.
Support the evolution of the firmwide data architecture partnering with businesses and technology to reduce adjustments and evolution to new strategic data platform.
Identify emerging execution risks or issues and actively derisk and escalate
Partner with Risk & Controls team to maintain and enhance an effective operational process and data quality control structure
Identify processes for improvement and participate in process reengineering efforts
Actively engage and partner with Internal Audit to proactively ensure execution outcomes meets expected standards
Qualifications and competencies:
15+ years Experience in large Financial Services firm with experience across, finance, data, operational processes, risk & control, business, or technology
Experience in running a Data Operations function
Held senior positions managing global teams in large organizations
Significant experience managing critical operational and data processes at a large organization.
Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements
Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to synthesize key messages and build relationships with senior executives and business stakeholders
Strong organizational leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate through a large organization to streamline and summarize multiple information points and create repeatable processes to build consistency
Must demonstrate a commitment to quality and attention to detail
Strong technical problem-solving skills and an ability to identify conflicts, discrepancies and other issues and bring together the right team to solution them
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification required
