The Fixed Assets and Real Estate Controller role will report directly to Corporate Functions Controller and will be responsible for partnering and acting as a trusted advisor to various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading Close related activities related to their area

- Fixed Assets accounting oversight & controls

- Real Estate accounting oversight and controls, including Leases.

- Monthly and quarterly reporting, including support for financial disclosures, 10Q and 10K.

- Supporting other Controllers and Lead Finance Officers and their teams within O&T and Functions & Management Businesses as the function plays a key role in the day-to-day financial transactions with ownership of the overall Controls and accounting responsibilities.

- Evaluating current processes to ensure robustness of accounting process, adequacy of process & financial controls, as well as driving overall process improvements & efficiencies

- Supporting business initiatives, such as divestitures, as well as Controller-wide initiatives

- Serving as an escalation point to resolve issues raised by stakeholders.

- Determining the need for policy/ procedure updates and executing these

- Responding to accounting questions and inquiries

- Interfacing with internal and external auditors

- Leading Balance Sheet Substantiation efforts and take full ownership of resolving any reconciliation issues in a timely manner.

- Actively supporting improvement of monthly and quarterly Results packages, including P&L and Balance Sheet variance commentaries.

- Driving risk & control agenda including data accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and metrics;

Qualifications

- 15+ years of relevant experience, preferably working for Big 4 Accounting firms, and/or Financial Services Institutions.

- Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent,

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to articulate complex topics.

- Strong stakeholder management track record and skills

- Ability to communicate, influence and coordinate effectively with a wide range of people across different functions and levels of seniority.

- A self-starter, who proactively seeks to improve existing controls and streamline processes both from a tactical short-term viewpoint, as well as from a strategic long-term perspective

- Ability to assess team readiness levels and coach accordingly, and often influence without authority.

- Ability to adapt quickly to a complex, matrixed environment, have good business judgment, be able to assess the issues, and escalate appropriately.

- Practical knowledge of US GAAP, Inter-Company structure, Knowledge of Financial / Regulatory Reporting.

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
