Director, Financial Regulatory Rules Interpretation Principal, C15
The Financial Regulatory Rules Interpretation role is a Senior Basel regulatory capital subject matter expert position within the Regulatory Capital Policy Group (RCPG) and reports to the Head of RCPG. This individual provides firmwide U.S. regulatory capital guidance and interpretations for transactions, deal structures, products, or events (e.g., divestitures) based on the current U.S. Basel regulatory capital regulations. The individual has a high level of visibility within the organization by working closely with many partners across the organization such as Finance, Lines of Business, Risk, Legal, and Treasury.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and approves comprehensive regulatory capital technical interpretation memos and discusses with Finance seniors and Risk second line of defense.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Risk Management, Accounting Policy, Legal, Product Control, Regulatory Reporting, and the businesses) to ensure proper due diligence of transactions from a U.S. Basel regulatory capital interpretive perspective.
- Advises the business on the regulatory capital treatment during the structuring phase of transactions and provide the U.S. Basel regulatory capital conclusions.
- Designated Lead for Basel interpretive policy manuals to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. Basel III regulations.
- Provides input to quality assurance and transformation teams, as necessary.
- Designated Lead for regulatory capital training materials.
- Reviews and approves Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) prepared and owned by Capital Controllers.
- Participates in cross-functional working groups supporting the day-to-day implementation of regulatory capital requirements.
- Reviews and approves ad hoc materials that may be presented to senior management, regulators, or others.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting U.S. Basel regulatory capital regulations and U.S. banking regulatory reporting forms and instructions.
- Ability to navigate through a large organization to promote and build consensus around interpretations and viewpoints.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts and make accessible to senior management, and influence change through subject matter expertise and gravitas.
- Deep understanding of financial products, U.S. banking statutes, and U.S. banking agency regulations and supervisory oversight.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and an ability to identify interpretive issues and bring together the right team to solution them.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks in a complex and dynamic and work well as part of a team.
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree in Finance or Accounting, Master's degree preferred.

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
