Director, Fiduciary Controls (Investor & Issuer Services)
The Investor & Issuer Services global Fiduciary Controls lead will ensure consistent application of standards to the assessment, implementation, and continued development of risk and controls solutions across fiduciary products within the businesses. The individual will identify enhancement opportunities, communicate the details of issues and corrective measures, and align activities to achieve critical governance and control milestones. The role is key in providing senior management with analysis of the business’s fiduciary control environment and regulatory adherence, as well as implementing plans to address regulations and new or revised Citi policies in partnership with the Wealth business. The Fiduciary Controls lead will apply in-depth inter-discipline knowledge in providing control and compliance assessments and delivering a comprehensive fiduciary risk framework. Strong communication and influencing skills are required, as well at the ability to work in a matrixed environment around the globe.
Job Background/Context:
Investor & Issuer Services are business units in the Services line of business that together generate more than $5Bn in annual revenue for Citi. Their global activities have fiduciary obligations in many markets according to their legal arrangements and regulatory requirements. The role will report to the global head of Controls & Regulatory Management for Investor & Issuer Services and will partner with Controls and business teams across the global.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the risk management framework for fiduciary risk, ensuring all businesses’ risk profiles consistently align to risk appetites and that risks are appropriately monitored and escalated
Identify key existing and emerging fiduciary risks through review and continuous evaluation, design, and execution of appropriate controls and compliance with regulations
Execute on Manager’s Control Assessment and other Citi Risk & Control requirements, ensuring an accurate representation of activities, risks, and controls
Examine internal and external risk events to identify control and process enhancements and proactively monitor data sets to identify areas of focus
Provide oversight and guidance over the assessment of complex issues, structuring potential solutions and driving effective resolution with other stakeholders
Coordinate the implementation of global and regional risk and control projects and initiatives
Maintain and deliver efficient fiduciary risk and control governance structures
Advise business executives on fiduciary risk and control matters and ensure new business activities are addressed with appropriate fiduciary control design
Partner, collaborate, and work with other areas within Citi across lines of defense
Lead external engagements with auditors and regulators
Keep abreast of fiduciary regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policies and ensure business compliance

The position provides a very wide scope of activities, geographic and legal entity coverage with frequent interaction with senior management across geographic, product, risk, and functional lines. The role will be an integral member of the global leadership team for the Controls organisation and for the businesses.
Knowledge/Experience:
Demonstrated familiarity with fiduciary rules and regulations
Understanding with Investor & Issuer Services business activities
Prior experience in risk and control management and in efforts to improve this discipline
Fluency with frameworks that deliver policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, rules, and regulations
Examples of leadership of risk and control governance structures
Track record of managing stakeholders at all levels and within complex organisational structures
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Skills/Competencies:
Track record of successful influence management of teams in multiple locations
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present ideas to audiences at all levels internally and externally
Demonstrated track record of collaboration across multiple, disparate internal and external business groups
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across teams and work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work with different business and functional teams
Self-starter, flexible, innovative, and adaptive
Detail-oriented and structured
Strategic agility and ability to challenge
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
