Commercial Cards NAM Cluster Head
The Commercial Cards NAM Cluster Head is a senior management level position responsible for managing a broad range of Product Management employees, setting strategy and providing direction, leadership and budgetary management, etc. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life-cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and execute business strategy to support our organic and inorganic growth targets. Execute “go to market” strategy for GNI and drive a vertical sales strategy. Specific focus on execution of portfolio optimization initiatives and breakout strategies in terms on increasing penetration of client wallet and optimization.
- Drive revenue growth thru market share capture. Develop North America product differentiation value propositions and sales narrative. Strong Market and CSM interface to jointly identify areas of focus and develop product capabilities to capture incremental market share. Work with partners across Global and Regional product teams and Coverage to distil and focus on key levers for growth of the franchise. Lead ideation and facilitate execution.
- Negotiate and make decisions on issues/activities having critical impact/influence on company revenues, capital, or business operations.
- Utilize specialty knowledge to review, analyze, and develop beyond existing solutions.
- Develop plans and execute functional strategies for region or business requiring coordination and integration across units, as well as provide input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within region/business.
- Ensure solid partnerships and cross selling opportunities across range of products such as banking products, cash management, foreign exchange, credit, capital markets, and wealth management to deliver comprehensive services and solutions for clients.
- Establish and maintain relationships with risk, business risk, compliance, and other relevant groups within Citi, as well as develop and ensure execution of the business strategy, and manage risk and compliance.
- Partner with other global, regional, and country leaders to share best practices and drive business strategies, solutions, and client centric solutions to differentiate Citi in the marketplace and achieve substantial growth targets for the business.
- Engage in internal and external negotiations.
- Building the NA commercial card brand by developing senior client contacts and presence at industry events to drive conversation on innovation and client partnerships. Increase market visibility through active Industry Conference attendance. Host a successful Client Conference with increased attendance and higher satisfaction scores.
- Serve as Senior on client relationships and deals.
- Serve as Senior on key external partnership and key vendors to include VISA, Mastercard, TSYS, Priority Payment and Boost.
- Develop strong internal partnerships. Partner with and take a leadership role as a member of the TTS NA senior leadership team. Partner with and take a leadership role as a member of the Commercial Cards Global Product team. Ensure on-going and consistent transfer of expertise. Share best practices across regions and geographies through global forum.
- Indirect, but active management of Operations & Technology to ensure product delivery within standards and reengineer existing products to gain scale and efficiency in conjunction with market expansion.
- Ensure the products adhere to all control and compliance requirements, not limited to Product Approval Programs, NPAC and satisfactory ARRs. Maintain a pristine control environment.
- Attract, motivate and retain top talent. Focus on building bench strength. Develop the teams industry knowledge and strategic thinking.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- 8-10+ years of managerial experience
- Experience managing across multi-function or global business
- Experience managing in a large, complex and matrixed organization
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the industry, banking, and investment products
- Working knowledge of different systems, theories, and practices relevant to a function
- Practical experience of multiple business cycles
- Knowledge of industry and competitor products/services
- Knowledge of strategic direction of the business and functions across regions combined with solid conceptual/practical grounding in function and/or area of expertise
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated internal and external negotiation skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
