Business Execution Support – Controllers

The individual will serve as an integral member of the Controllers Business Execution team. The role will be responsible for assisting the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller in the strategy & planning, financial management, and day-to-day support for high priority deliverables and initiatives. This role will also lead additional projects for the overall administrative, operational, and strategic activities of Controllers, including leading the Controllers budgeting process, VOE initiatives and partner with key Finance stakeholders to ensure alignment on key Finance initiatives. The individual should have excellent judgment, communication, and team management skills to influence a wide range of stakeholders to drive results in the group.

Responsibilities:

  • Help shape the strategic priorities and transformation agenda for the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. This role will work in-office four to five days a week.
  • Provide oversight and credible challenge over the implementation of Controller strategic initiatives
  • Help define, monitor, and manage organizational metrics for key focus areas, including but not limited to issue remediation, financial management and human resources
  • Lead people strategy for Controllers, including but not limited to recruitment, development, engagement and retention.
  • Oversee delivery of key presentations and communications to a wide range of stakeholders, including regulators, internal stakeholders and Board, etc.
  • Manage tasks and responsibilities associated with the planning, directing, coordination and support of day-to-day activities relating to projects/initiatives
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders across Citi at all levels, businesses and locations, providing a broad understanding of the organization while building relationships throughout Citi
  • Lead and influence management discussions, strategy, and approach
  • Focus on continuous control improvements across all areas to ensure continued improvement of the control framework in an efficient, cost effective, streamlined, and value add manner

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of financial services experience in global and complex settings with multiple stakeholders strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership/executive presence with strong oral and written communication skills, including proven experience in developing senior executive presentations, communications, and concise updates / talking points
  • Openness to challenge and continuously challenging the status quo
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex concepts in a concise manner
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, highly matrix, dynamic environment
  • Ability to garner support and secure buy-in across a wide range of stakeholders and to create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies, and decision makers
  • Self-starter who can work independently and with limited supervision
  • Quick learner, with ability to understand complex requirements and translate into clear and simple guidance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under demanding time frames and respond appropriately and competently to the demands of work challenges when confronted with changes, ambiguity, adversity, and other pressures.
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented with ability to lead in a professional and challenging environment and deliver results against fast-paced deliverable deadlines.
  • Outstanding presentation, communication, interpersonal and coaching skills. Ability to work with different levels of management.
  • Self-motivated, highly adaptive, and able to work well under high stress
  • Drive administrative, operational, reporting and quality improvements through partnership with internal teams
  • Growth mindset and ability to innovate and champion progress for efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to align cross functional teams and resources to drive overall strategy.
  • Digital savvy

Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree/CFA/CPA preferred, managerial experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
