The Head of Fair Lending, Privacy and Gen AI Compliance Programs reports to the Head of the Office of Fair Lending and Privacy and is responsible for designing, implementing and executing the Fair Lending, Privacy and Gen AI Compliance Programs.

The Head of Fair Lending and Privacy Programs is responsible for the design and leading the implementation of innovative strategies to develop and enhance compliance program oversight. This role is responsible for providing program management coverage, input on strategic direction, and reporting and deliverable coordination for initiatives and programs supporting the Compliance Risk Management Framework.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive the implementation and adoption of Citi’s Compliance Transformation Plan, helping to manage interdependencies between the ICRM Program and Product/Function Compliance teams and acting as the liaison for key Transformation initiatives impacting the businesses/functions
  • Responsible for providing program management coverage, input on strategic direction, and reporting and deliverable coordination for initiatives and programs supporting the Compliance Risk Management Framework, including:
    • Issues management and reporting
    • Development of MIS and materials for governance committees
    • Applicability of laws, rules, and regulations
    • Compliance Risk Assessment, including the Fair Lending Risk Assessment
    • Compliance Risk Appetite, Risk Identification, and Emerging Risk
    • Audit and Regulatory exam readiness and coordination
  • Collaborate with ICRM Business Execution Lead, Controls Lead, and CCO Chief of Staff to ensure consistent implementation and execution of internal activities
    • Budget and organizational design management
    • Recruitment management
    • Internal team engagement strategies and strategic projects
    • MCA execution and controls
  • Lead the team in drafting and implementing annual fair lending and privacy compliance plans;
  • Lead the development of fair lending and compliance training.
  • Lead the oversight of the tools and technology management for Fair Lending, Privacy and Gen AI
  • Lead the development of Senior Management and Board reporting

Skills:

  • Design, enhance or lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies to develop and enhance compliance program oversight elements, including risk assessments, policies and procedures, due diligence/credit challenge reviews, compliance training, monitoring and testing plans, issues management, audit and regulatory exam management, reporting to the appropriate governance forum, etc., while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ability to evaluate controls, conduct impact assessments, identify control gaps, remediate risk and navigate resolution of potential competing objectives
  • Synthesize and apply critical thinking techniques to interpret and solve complex problems, using all relevant information, to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate compliance issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High-level of initiative to push for excellence, results, and process improvement
  • Ability to analyze and interpret rules, regulations and policies.  Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and regulatory developments
  • Being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate
  • Comfort with the ambiguity of changing priorities and the flexibility to embrace new ideas within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate complex compliance risks.
  • Experience in auditing, policy development, and risk management frameworks.
  • The ability to develop talent and appropriate subject matter expertise. 

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in audit, compliance, or other control-related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof preferred
  • Previous work as an auditor or regulator is preferred
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues through root cause analysis and other analytical techniques, structure potential solutions, and drive to resolution with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level using sound judgment and successful execution, understanding how to operate effectively across diverse businesses
  • Experience managing diverse teams, and comfort navigating complex, highly-matrixed organizations
  • Comfortable acting as an agent for positive change with agility and flexibility
  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach
  • Executive presence and a reputation for building strong relationships with stakeholders and leading teams, both direct reports and in peer/influence models

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or JD) is preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
