SIS Balance Sheet Anchoring - Finance Rptg Analyst 2 - C10
The Regulatory Reporting role is an analyst position within the Controllers Organization that will report up through the Global Head of Regulatory and Capital Reporting. The individual will support the preparation, analysis and submission of regulatory reports to various constituencies (local regulators, U.S. Federal Reserve, OCC, etc.) based on applicable requirements such as U.S. Regulatory and local regulatory reporting rules and instructions. The position will have a high level of visibility within the organization with opportunities to work directly with other Finance and non-Finance functions throughout Citi, including the Businesses, Risk, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, as well as Enterprise Technology, & Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the production, review and timely submission of regulatory filings and reports to U.S. regulators including reports such as FR Y-9C, FR Y-14, Call Report, FFIEC 009, FR Y-15 and others.
- Assist in monitoring and managing key metrics associated with reports to identify challenges and issues. Support the execution of controls processes to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist the team to drive process improvements to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of the regulatory reporting process.
- Work with peers and program leaders on the implementation of U.S. regulatory changes within the reporting framework.
- Partner with Risk & Controls team to maintain and enhance an effective internal control’s structure.
- Escalate problems or issues related to processes, reports, or procedures.
- Integrate established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience within the financial services industry and regulatory reporting.
- Basic knowledge of U.S. regulatory reports such as those mentioned above.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and an ability to identify conflicts, discrepancies and other issues and escalate to seniors.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks in a complex and dynamic and work well as part of a team.
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Balance Sheet GENESIS Anchoring Reporting Analyst is the position responsible to perform reconciliation, research and analysis also supports submission and closure of financial books in accordance with (US GAAP). The overall objective of this role is to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of reports in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Independently perform reconciliation, research and analysis for various Citigroup Products, also accountable to produce accurate submissions to Citi financials (US GAAP), USRRI, and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) review for OCC Commitment products.
- Support submission and closing the books and sub-ledgers, including passing appropriate required adjustment entries and consolidating financials at the end of each accounting period.
- Ensure all adjustments are accurately calculated, documented with valid supports and posted within established timelines as per BS Global Directives for GENESIS.
- Dealing with Multiple Senior stakeholders from Finance, Governance, Controllers, Treasury & Operations etc. to provide robust operational environment with effective business communication. Provide necessary support to team manager for concurrent & regulatory audit queries.
- Escalate issues related to transactions, processes, reports, or procedures as well as monitor progress/changes and keep senior leadership informed of unusual financial activities.
- Independently assess & report any potential risk to Citi Balance sheet and P&L, perform balance sheet reconciliation & substantiation of accounts as per BS GLOBAL directives with remit to ensure integrity of Citi Financial statements.
- Conducting proactive review discussion with Global Balance Sheet Control Group in Account Review Forum (ARF) supports in reduction of balances, which are potential risks to Citigroup Financials.
- Work with a team to identify and implement process improvement initiatives or standardizations.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in financial accounting, reconciliation & analysis preferred.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of related industry practices and standards
- Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictates.
