The Non-Functional and Performance Lead accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.
Responsibilities:
Performs initiatives related to Non-Functional Testing (NFT) process and product rollout into production. Testing specialists who work with technology teams, Production Support teams, UAT professionals and users to design and implement appropriate scripts/plans for an non-functional testing strategy/approach. Responsibilities may also include building observability and monitoring capabilities for site reliability.
Manages multiple teams or a functional area (depending on size of business).
Resolves complex and highly variable issues.
Analyzes trends at an organizational level to improve processes; follows and analyzes industry trends.
Develops and designs standards and procedures; ensures that they are adhered to throughout the software development life cycle.
Manages organizational process change.
Develops and implements methods for cost, effort and milestones of Non-Functional and Performance Testing activities. Strives for continuous improvements and streamlining of processes.
Ensures consistency and quality of processes across the organization. Exhibits in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of these elements in other areas.
Capability to conduct application profiling, perform core engineering & tuning activities, analyze heap and thread dumps, log profiling, SQL Profiling & AWR analysis to identify performance bottlenecks at
code/configuration/architecture level.Collaborates with multiple stakeholders, deliver complex performance and non-functional engineering assignments with a team of high-profile engineers for critical banking products in Equities Prime and Futures Clearing department.
Requires in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within IT Quality and has basic commercial awareness.
Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.
Uses evaluative judgment in complicated or novel situations; uses multiple sources of information.
Impacts IT Quality through delivery of end results and contribution to planning, finances/budget and formulation of policies.
Responsible for budgeting, project estimates, task management & balancing prioritization across multiple streams of development
Responsible for people management, mentoring and career development process for global team including delivering performance review, training, recruiting.
Responsible to identify infrastructure capacity headroom for franchise critical applications in Production vs Performance.
Responsible for handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Performs other duties and functions as assigned.

Qualifications:
15+ years IT Testing experience required
Excellent knowledge of performance engineering, observability, resiliency and site reliability techniques and testing tools
Proficient in identifying bottlenecks and recommending optimization to improve applications throughput & capacity.
Knowledge of any well-known software development and testing life-cycle methodology including agile practices
Requires communication and diplomacy skills and an ability to persuade and influence
Well versed with tools like Jira, App Dynamics, Load Runner, Performance Center and technologies like OpenShift, Kubernetes etc.
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
