About The Team

The FX Technology Programme Management team is focused on driving delivery and execution of Projects and Programmes within FX Technology. We work with each of the technology teams across FX including e-Trading, Sales Technology and e-Commerce; also interfacing with the business counterparts that make up FX technology’s major stakeholders. Our mission is to enable the technology teams to deliver great software and regularly deliver value to the business through planned initiatives both short and long term. We will drive and support execution of technical projects and programmes, which could include initiatives such as digitalisation, simplification, automation, introduction of new products and migration activities. In particular we will focus on efficiency, breaking complexity into manageable chunks, embracing Agile ways of working and providing project structure and support in a way that feels liberating to all involved.

About The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our expanding Project and Program Management team. The role will include managing a technical project, several projects or a workstream on a large program, and over time could involve work across a number of different projects and programs within the FX technology space. You will work with both the central Program Management team and with the teams to ensure best practice governance is in place: establishing the project team, managing stakeholders, working with partners, creating and maintaining key project artefacts and driving successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End to end project management of a technology project, projects or work-stream in a larger program
  • Scope work and create plans in Excel or Jira, breaking out tasks, owners, dates, milestones and RAG statuses
  • Stakeholder management and leadership of the project team or working groups involved
  • Keep project plan(s) or Jiras up to date, providing date information. RAG updates and commentary
  • Create and maintain a RAID log, raising risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, and then driving them to resolution or escalating where support is needed
  • Chair meetings with application developers and with stakeholders, ranging from daily scrums to weekly updates to ad-hoc technical workshops
  • Take and circulate meeting minutes – including tracking attendees, key discussion points and action log
  • Create or update powerpoints where applicable, such as slides for project updates, or to input into Operating Committees and Steering Committees
  • Hosting of Operating Committees if / where applicable and presenting in other forums
  • Input into the central Program team governance processes and best practices ensuring high standard Project and Program management

Experience:

  • 8+ years of project management experience. Understanding of technology and the application development lifecycle
  • Experience working with developers and technical teams
  • Experience managing complex technology projects involving technical teams and many moving parts
  • Experience managing projects in either Waterfall or Agile, with history of planning, risk mitigation and tracking
  • Ability to understand complex systems and flows
  • Stakeholder management
  • Experience with Jira or a similar tool is beneficial
  • Understanding of Agile and related methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, including ceremonies (daily stand ups, retrospectives, sprint planning) and planning mechanisms (epics, user stories, sprints) would be highly beneficial
  • Microsoft office suite experience with Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience in FX or another Markets area is beneficial
  • Understanding of financial services industry is beneficial
