Wholesale Credit Risk Data Engineer

Team/Role Overview
Institutional Credit Management provides integrated end-to-end credit underwriting and credit risk management for Citi’s wholesale businesses.
This data-analytics focused product development role will execute credit risk target state processes, data & technology capabilities.
Based in London, col-located with Citi’s Senior Risk Officers, this role will position the right candidate for significant future growth potential in Data, Product Development and Credit Risk.
What you’ll do
- Produce market-leading visualisation of data sets and analytics
- Proactively contributing to the design, coding and deployment of analytic capabilities on structured and unstructured data.
- Exploration of existing / new data sets to facilitate the proactive identification of Credit Risk events
- Proactively engage in outreach to different business partners to dimension requirements, pair with your knowledge of data availability, and work together to conduct data investigation & analytic solutioning
- Define business requirements to drive development or new products and/or features, working with in-house technology & exploring vendor capabilities
- Contribute towards Citi’s One Data Strategy with initiatives across the firm shaping the future of Citi’s Data architecture, reporting & controls
What we’ll need from you
- Experience in contributing to a data/analytic capability in a financial institution
- Experience in deep analytic focused work leveraging Distributed File System ecosystem tools: Linux, Python, Spark, Hive, Hue, No Sql etc
- Intricate understanding of data: indexing, model, quantification, quality and assessment / reporting.
- Experience of strategic ‘data’ engagement beyond pure analytics and demonstrated awareness of ‘industry data’ considerations
- Critical, but creative, thinker and an ability to ‘translate’ work / product to non-data analytic individuals
- Exceptional time / project management / coordination across multiple stakeholder groups with experience in end to end project delivery and the proven adoption of a ‘leadership’ role in resolving arising issues
