Program Lead – Modern and Simple Program

The ‘Modern and Simple’ program is a Citi-wide initiative aimed at improving the quality of our foundational systems at Citi. It consists of two streams:

• the ‘Modern’ stream will focus on remediation of key applications, which depend on software components that are unsupported or otherwise deprecated

• the ‘Simple’ stream aims to reduce the complexity of Citi’s overall application landscape by reducing the number of systems performing key CEAM functions, and consolidating those functions into strategic systems.

The Program Lead will be responsible for senior stakeholder management, communication and coordination of this complex program of work, as well as integration of the program with the broader Consent Order set of programs. The Program Lead will ensure that the program tracks as expected to financial targets, and will manage risks and issues and ensure appropriate escalations. The role also includes developing and tracking meaningful KPIs, managing senior facing steering groups, as well as developing and presenting excellent communication materials, supporting full transparency around progress. The program lead will track key milestones and ensure that any necessary corrective actions are taken in good time, that program metrics are captured and attested as required, and that all required governance artefacts are created and approved. This person will be the key ‘face’ of the Modern and Simple program and will be responsible for representing the program in leadership forums and for building an effective senior communication strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Develops the project management strategic direction with respect to initiative or program creation, alignment to business goals, stakeholder management, executive communications and the like.

• Manages program director-level, senior program manager-level and other staff. Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, organizations and business heads.

• Identifies and drives resolution of issues, including those outside established programs of work.

• Collaborates with stakeholders like senior management, program sponsor to ensure program scope definition meets business objectives as well as alignment of business case/cost benefit analysis.

• Manages the process with other departments if resources are being borrowed in order to ensure the program is completed within the stated timelines.

• Manages the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.

• Manages the identification of risks which impact program delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.

• Manages business planning initiatives for an entire functional area.

• Exercises control over budget, policy formulation, planning and significant contribution to future strategy.

• Develops and implements department strategy to meet end user needs & goals.

• Manages a large team through functional managers/senior professionals.

• Coaches and evaluates subordinate' s performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, promotions etc.

• Manages large project team which could include matrix management of director-level, senior project manager-level and other staff, as appropriate.

• Builds and manages relationships with key stakeholders, organizations and business heads.

• Collaborates with Senior Management on cross functional areas and other projects, as appropriate.

• Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure project scope definition meets business objectives.

• Collaborates with Project Sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives.

• Manages the process with other departments if resources are being borrowed in order to ensure the project can be completed.

• Manages the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.

• Manages the identification of risks which impact project delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a senior Program or Project Manager, Lead, PMO or department head, managing teams and large, strategic cross-functional projects

• Previous experience in program/project management, consulting, technology and/or management

• Experience of working with Consent Order related Programs

• Candidate should have substantial experience in project and program management.

• Excellent interpersonal relationships with ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.

• Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
