Private Side Credit Trader

Citi is looking to hire a Private Side Traderfor the illiquid part of the business to join the Spread Products team team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced credit trader to work on primary loan and private placements origination, execution and distribution of transactions while also being responsible for booking and risk managing the transactions while also being responsible for booking and risk managing the transactions. 

What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:

• Individual to be private side and to work with private side Sales (previously Corporate Solutions Group), Banking, CMO, DCM on primary loan and private placements origination, execution and together with SP Syndicate distribution of transactions
• Detailed experience in structuring loans, collateral packages, different distribution formats (CLN, TRS, sub-participation, CDS, insurance, etc.) and hedging instruments (FX swaps, NDFs, interest rate swaps etc.) is a requirement
• The individual would need to make direct trading decisions for the Trading books and work closely together with Structuring when identifying, structuring and pricing transactions
• The strategy has been expanded from a originate to distribute product into a wider mandate that includes HFS/HFI books on the Trading side

What we will need from you:

• This is not an entry level role, so the successful candidate will need to have current trading and structuring experience as well as experience and exposure to primary loans / private placement.
• Experience in EM is not mandatory but beneficial given the regional focus of the role
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• A strong understanding of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalities.
• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred
