Team/Role Overview

The Business Risk and Control Sr Officer is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically, a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project

What you’ll do

  • Providing support to Front Office in the planning and execution of risk assessments through the execution of structured challenge processes, encompassing both inherent and residual risks.
  • Managing delivery of a wide ranging and complex set of risk and control related activities, in line with programme objectives and timelines, and to meet regulatory expectations.
  • Applying product, risk and control knowledge to support business stakeholders in conducting deep dives on emerging risk and control gaps.
  • Developing expertise in Citi’s risk assessment framework and tools, to enable provision of training and support to business users.
  • Working to the overall project timetable, proactively identifying risks, issues and dependencies in effectively managing timely delivery.
  • Developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships globally across Front Office, Independent Compliance Risk Management, Operational Risk and wider Risk teams.
  • Executing improvements in aspects of the risk assessment framework, aspects of execution requires an evaluation of current state and data driven approach to reach the target state.
  • Providing CPaMP risk and control subject matter expertise to stakeholders across all three lines of defence.

What we’ll need from you

  • Familiarity with 3rd party risk models.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • SQL, Perl or Python, Matlab or R, Excel VBA. Database administrator experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
