The Investor Services Business Execution Lead (C-16) will be tasked with the overall strategic planning and analysis, governance and execution of all work efforts across the Investor Services business, resource allocation, productivity and expense management, management of technology budget, and business process mapping and improvements.  The BE Lead will work closely with the Head of Investor Services and will partner up with other leaders across the Investor Services business lines (Custody, Fund Services and Execution Services) and also horizontally and cross-functionally with partners across Services and the broader firm to achieve targeted goals and objectives for the team.

This position offers an opportunity to partner with a wide variety of people and solve some of the most critical issues facing the business and the firm today and will be vital in leading the strategic progress of the Investor Services business across a large, and global business. This leader will be held accountable to driving results, defining priorities and strategy, engaging through effective and clear communication, and leading and developing a best-in-class global team.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Head of Investor Services to establish strategic objectives, drive transformative initiatives across the business, strategically allocate resources across competing priorities, and develop a culture of end-to-end accountability and data-driven decision-making

  • Drive strategic, operational, reporting and quality improvements through partnership with internal teams, including digital transformation, data initiatives, technology modernizations, and other strategic business projects across Investor Services

  • Accountable to lead key initiatives across Investor Services teams, covering all product groups, as well as collaboration with Partners and Horizontal Functions on the Strategic Execution of projects deemed critical to Investor Services, Services and the firm overall

  • Partner with Business, Function and cluster heads, and other Business Execution teams to progress business-wide and Services strategic priorities

  • Work in partnership with Sales organization to understand sales moment, ramp, losses and win analysis to help drive future strategic investments and focus

  • Develop and implement a metrics driven approach for tracking/measuring success for the business across initiatives in partnership with business leaders on the team, and hold the relevant teams accountable for achieving objectives

  • Provide oversight and management of business critical OKRs, Business Critical Milestone Reporting process and other reporting processes to ensure quality, efficiency and accuracy

  • Together with the Investor Services Business Head act as end-to-end owner of budget and P&L for Investor Services team in close partnership  with the Finance teams. This involves setting financial targets and holding teams accountable to abiding by them, owing approval process for discretionary spend including T&E, meetings, events, etc., and reviewing monthly P&L with head of Investor Services to identify variances, allocations, and action items

  • Manage expense productivity and financial control by applying a comprehensive understanding of the department Profit & Loss (P&L) in order to improve operational efficiency and productivity across all parts of the business

  • Partner with Investor Services and Technology leadership to develop, prioritize and track the investment required for the Investor Services technology book of work, including cross-functional projects with partners, e.g. Data, Payments etc. and Platform Modernization efforts. Frequently liaise with central COO tech teams to ensure business objectives and outcomes are delivered as part of the technology investment and partner with technology to drive an efficient and effective use of the technology investment budget

  • Ensure headcount is accurate, real estate is inventoried and planned, and recruiting, onboarding and termination of resources are managed efficiently

  • Work closely with the In-business risk teams for Investor Services to appropriately assess risks across the business, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Assist the Investor Services Head with the design of the organizational structures that fit the needs of the business and Services

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience (15+ years) in Financial Services, preferably in a role driving internal strategy and digital transformation

  • Strategic thinker who can take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions and measurable metrics and then execute on those plans

  • Prior success working in a large, highly-matrix and complex organization; able to set priorities and 'triage' in a fast-paced, dynamic environment  

  • Demonstrated skills in developing and executing strategies for transformation programs, strategic planning, financial reporting, and business management

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across a variety of global stakeholders with various levels of seniority

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain business partnerships and to work in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.

  • Demonstrates a flexible, resilient and action oriented approach to high-pressure and time sensitive situations with experience in performing complex problem solving and business trade off decision analysis in a process driven and execution focused environment

  • Strong people manager who is comfortable outlining objectives, delegating responsibilities, providing clear and honest feedback and demonstrated track record of effective management and development of junior talent

  • Comprehensive understanding and awareness of appropriate corporate and regulatory policies

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business or finance-related study; Master’s degree preferred.
