Applications Support Senior Analyst - AVP

This role provides excellent exposure to a continually improving Commodities Technology Stack and industry award-winning Business Desks in Global Markets. We have direct ability to liaise and own issues outside of Commodities technology, such as middle office, operations, front office, business unit management and other support teams giving opportunities to facilitate effective and timely resolution to user queries and issues. Internal Citi and External Markets training is highly supported as we look to develop and maintain our Analysts, with best of class development options. This includes direct exposure with our Business SME’s who lead deep dives into how Citi handles its Oil, Gas, Power and Structured/Index products to name just a few.
Responsibilities:
Handling day to day BAU support for the Global Commodities business and associated downstream teams.
Exposure to booking systems like trade booking, Risk Systems, E-trading platforms, etc.
Resiliency to ensure near 100% availability of applications and associated infrastructure. Contributing to the defining stability measures to design, test, and accomplish a material reduction in outages
Provide business support for mission critical trading system used by Sales & Trading and back office users
Support all aspects of Commodities trade life cycle flows including Pricing, ECN connectivity, trade booking & executions, Risk Management , middle office and back office and regulatory reporting flows
Expected to raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams, while
adhering to Service Level AgreementsBuild and maintain technical support documentation
Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors
Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production
Perform post release checkouts after application releases and infrastructure updates
Active involvement in and ownership of Support Project items, covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives
Work with our Development partners to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling
requirementsEnsure all productions issues are logged and updated as per the Support team policies and procedures
Effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams
Handle EOD Batch Issue and be able to deliver the risk to trading desk and downstream systems
Persuade and influence others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills
Performs other duties and functions as assigned
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Skills (Desirable):
Sound knowledge on Business / understanding of financial markets and products
Experience with Messaging Technologies (TIBCO EMS / SOLACE a plus )
Experience with real-time monitoring systems such as ITRS Netagent, APP Dynamics or SplunkJob scheduling tool such as Autosys
Issue tracking and reporting using tools such as Service Now, JIRA
Knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools.
Good all-round PC skills. (I.e. Windows OS / Networks / General Hardware)
Knowledge/Experience (Essential):Prior experience in supporting Front Office trading booking and Risk systems.
Working knowledge of Oracle SQL. (Able to build ad hoc SQL queries)
Prior experience with UNIX plus an ability to navigate the system and core
administration functions. (Able to navigate the system and write shell scripting)Working knowledge of Python Scripting
Demonstrable track record of hands-on application support experience in a global markets related business
Exposure to Cloud technologies and DevOps (CI/CD) tools and techniques
Working knowledge of Openlink product
Prior E-trading Experience
Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems/components
Strong analytical skills & attention to detail IT (spreadsheet/analytical/modeling skills)
Positive attitude and keen to learn
Ability to work under stress and time constraints.
Ensure all productions issues are logged and updated as per policies and procedure
Ability to plan and organize workload
Strong client facing skills, both verbal and written.
