Global Risk Review (GRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance to the Board of Directors and Committees of Citigroup and Citibank, NA, to the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer, senior management and regulators as to the effectiveness of credit and collateral risk management and the ability of the Business and Independent Risk Management to identify, measure, monitor, and control current and emerging risks. Within GRR, the Global Credit Risk Officer Program drives best-in-class credit risk officer training, policies, assessments, and periodic reevaluation consistent with expectations of the Board, senior management, and regulators.

The Director, Global Credit Risk Officer Program Lead will report to the Head of Enterprise Risk Programs Review and Global Credit Risk Officer Program and will be responsible for executing all components of the Global Credit Risk Officer framework. Credit Officers (COs) and Senior Credit Officers (SCOs) (collectively, “Credit Risk Officers”) are the foundation for all credit risk decisions made within Citi and CBNA. The importance of this function requires that the firm have a comprehensive and consistent approach to managing the Credit Risk Officer universe. The Program governs all aspects of the Credit Officer journey beginning with training and qualifications for COs through governing the requirements and elevation process for achieving the SCO Level 1 Designation, the highest credit approval level at Citi. The GCROP Lead will have extensive interaction with senior management across all Citi businesses, Independent Risk Management, Compliance, and Learning & Development (L&D) and will maintain and enhance critical governance that sets the foundation for Program requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy, enhancement, and oversight of Citi's Credit Risk Officer programs, ensuring alignment with safety and soundness, industry best practices, and a strong risk and control environment
  • Manage and enhance governance detailing the Citi-wide Credit Risk Officer framework, including Credit Risk Officer Policy, Credit Risk Officer Procedure, and program documentation
  • Oversee execution of the end-to-end framework to ensure clear and consistently applied processes from CO prerequisites through SCO designation and beyond
  • Collaborate with senior management across businesses, Independent Risk Management, Compliance, and Learning & Development to drive consistency and effective governance
  • Lead Wholesale Credit Risk Remediation, Consent Order and Regulatory initiatives that pertain to the credit risk officer framework
  • Manage and lead the GCROP Team to ensure successful execution of the core mandates of the Global SCO Framework function
  • Execute on various ad-hoc projects critical to GCROP as well as researching and drafting materials for senior, regulatory and Board presentations for ‘deep dives’ into various topics

Skills/Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences and influence senior stakeholders (e.g., Business and Risk Heads, CROs)
  • Excellent relationship management skills to foster productive and inclusive team dynamics
  • Exceptional organizational, project and time management skills with the ability to successfully prioritize and manage competing demands
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a strategic perspective to drive change while executing against multiple competing priorities
  • Proven experience leading a high-performing program management related team

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Demonstrable financial services experience including 15+ years in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Internal Audit or similar field with expertise in risk and controls
  • Strong credit risk knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of Citi's organization and systems preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree a plus

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
