USPB: Head of Digital Channels and Ecosystems
The Role
The financial landscape and growing customer preference to do business in the digital channels has been quickly evolving over the past five years and has made a significant impact on how we interact with customers, the products we create and the strategies we deploy.
As US Consumer Bank’s Head of Digital Channels and Ecosystems, you will report directly to the CIO | Chief Digital Officer and spearhead our partnership ecosystem strategy both designing and implementing digital solutions for large and complex use cases. The role will also be responsible for creating and implementing a compelling design across our digital and mobile properties that enables a 360 engagement with our customers.
We are looking for a visionary leader who has the experience of creating, communicating, and executing an exciting and unifying vision. Developing and leading a team of ambitious digital product managers and building strong and collaborative relationships with senior business leaders and key stakeholders to drive the vision forward is essential.
Credit Retails Services
Citi Retail Services, a part of Citi, provides retail credit solutions and financing options to retailers and their customers, offering services like private label and co-branded credit cards, promotional financing, and instalment loans.
Responsibilities
- Define and develop market leading products with key strategic partners
- Partner with the US Consumer Partnerships team on ideation and pitch opportunities for new partnerships
- Set the product vision, translate the vision into detailed product roadmaps, and lead the cross functional delivery throughout the entire product lifecycle
- Attract and support developers and partners with a customized, secure online Application Programming Interface (API) Portal. Quickly onboard partners and establish active social channels with them for communicating with the community, understanding feedback and prioritizing needs. Help developers find the right API.
- Drive the Global Enterprise Open Banking business vision based on customer needs, stand-up global team, and operationalizing the back-office and business operations of a new line of business, Citi global developer hub.
- Create and implement a market leading design across digital properties (Web & Mobile)
- Strive for realizing an aggressive ambition for operational effectiveness through the reduction of effort involved in publishing and authoring API development and documents within clear governance boundaries. Support multiple countries with multi-language support and a test console / environment for developers to test the APIs.
- High level of interaction and synergy with technology, operations, design and analytics
- Manage a team of product managers and oversee the transition from strategy to implementation: from roadmap to releases and sprints, from epics to stories, validating the product along the way
- Oversee and coordinate the launch of technology products to customers and follow up on feedback
- Cultivate an agile and results-driven culture in which innovation and excellence are expected
- Develop a customer experience that is easy and intuitive
- Exhibit exceptional leadership skills to leverage the capabilities of peers, business partners, and associates
- Continuously focus on building and developing product talent that has the business acumen and technical capability to deliver world class products in a connected, mobile environment
- Tap into other areas of the business (marketing, design, etc.) when necessary and develop cross functional teams to help advance the product roadmap
- Oversee the development of user stories and business requirements to clearly define product functional requirements
- Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
(Qualifications)
- 15+ years of experience in financial services or Fintech leading strategy, execution and external/industry engagement, including 10+ years' managerial experience directly managing high-performing product teams with demonstrable and measurable results
- Passion for building and developing diverse teams embracing diversity of thought, experience and background
- Consistent record as department head, managing teams and large, strategic cross-functional or enterprise projects Previous program/project management, consulting, technology and/or management experience
- You’ve had many experiences defining product roadmaps, building collaboratively with design, engineering and product research, and shipping at scale
- Expertise building products that create habitual customer engagement
- Hustler with a willingness and appetite to do what it takes to take the product from concept to launch, while also being comfortable with ambiguity
- Determined – achievement oriented; optimistic about what can be; persistent, can persevere, resilient to setbacks; seeks high levels of activity, fast-paced environment; demonstrates a fierce commitment to challenging goals; a strong bias for action
- Proven ability to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization and influence non-directs through data and a vision in a variety of contexts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to find, analyze, and distill data into actionable insights
- Compelling storyteller with experience communicating strategies and ideas to engineers and designers alike
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly come up with innovative solutions to problems, and are always one step ahead
- Deep technical knowledge, with the ability to break down the work involved in solving them, and the impact of those decisions on engineering
- Brings a mix of entrepreneurial, startup/growth, and corporate-level scaled innovation leadership experience
- Seasoned, passionate, and mission-driven digital product professional with a demonstrated ability to develop a vision, drive and manage the execution of that vision, and deliver top-tier results
- Demonstrated sound business judgment, analytical acumen, consumer-centric mindset and communication skills
- An attention to detail, good team dynamics, and an ability to work independently as needed
- Clear reputation for motivating product management and development teams to deliver unique and differentiating solutions to complex business problems
- Deep consumer product knowledge and passion around emerging technologies and how they will change consumer experiences
- A self-starter who is action oriented and has a proven track record of delivering products with substantial value
