The Controllers Transformation organization is looking for a dynamic individual to help shape the future of the Finance organization. As part of Citi Finance’s transformation program, the Controllers Transformation  team is charged with leading Finance’s efforts to provide accurate information of the highest quality to our customers, shareholders and regulators. Controllers Transformation processes are comprised of those sets of activities that begin with defining and establishing appropriate data standards and ensuring readiness for consumers, standardizing the accounting and processing of transactions to financial systems, implementing a comprehensive set of integrated financial closing processes, which then culminates with instituting common and optimized financial / regulatory reporting processes. 

The role holder will champion business process changes by understanding current state processes, helping to define the target state, partnering with Technology on the delivery of required infrastructure capability, and with client-facing and shared services teams in the transformation to the target state. A strong finance background, passion for driving change, navigating and overcoming obstacles, and working effectively independently and in team settings are critical to the role holder’s success and growth.

The role holder must be able to evaluate issues of varying complexities by developing an approach or action using multiple sources of information and weighing various alternatives and balancing potential conflicting situations. Requires excellent analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.

Responsibilities:

Contributes to the design, roll-out and governance of financial solutions, including:

  • Role will be mainly focus on two main areas, while supporting the consent Order Commitments and working to get our Key BCBS US Regulatory reports to largely compliant status by:
  • 1) identifying, prioritizing and organizing teams to remediate Default values in regulatory reports, whether from GENESIS defaults, Full Suite Stub records, and or GENESIS synthetic contracts
  • 2) Identifying stubs records with real contract values vs default values and ensure that they are appropriately reflected on the regulatory reports
  • Role will also work with Global Reg Reporting to determine a risk appetite for defaults and synthetics and get RMRR confirmation, as well as,
  • implement a governance process to monitor and escalate issue to prevent new defaults from being created
  • As the GENESIS decommissioning program develops, role will ensure requirements for Full Suite integration with GENESIS is adhered to with appropriate controls
  • Partner with Finance leaders to develop intermediate and strategic inventory and governance around defaults and proxy values, including prioritization and tracking. Will be responsible for reducing active representative values through the data demand process and Insight functionality.
  • Partner with technology leaders to prioritize and align technology roadmaps to process improvement plans for US and Local regulatory reporting.
  • Participates in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process, organization and architecture covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations
  • Assists in setting business and information architecture standards for Finance
  • Plays a part in settling and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern policies and starts for global Finance processes
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of the business impact of process design and technical contributions.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry highly preferred
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function.
  • A proven track record of process transformations, including technology integration. Able to identify and drive change by thinking “out of the box”. Strong and demonstrated execution skills
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating and building relationships and influencing across the organization
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and influencing skills coupled with an ability to build a broad base of support among key decision makers at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
  • Analytical, flexible, team-oriented, with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Project management experience, Agile project management, Scrum methodology required
  • In depth knowledge of banking products / systems preferred.
  • CPA preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
