The TTS Ops Preventative Control Design Lead will be responsible for design of preventative control approach,  defining control requirements and alignment with firmwide standards.  The role will enable TTS to align with the enterprise-wide risk transformation approach creating consistency and efficiency across the bank.

This important role will partner with Operations and Technology to ensure continuous alignment and drive systemic control uplifts across our payment processing applications.  The Design Lead will provide critical risk oversight throughout the program lifecycle from scoping, design, implementation, through to sustainability phases.

Excellent communication skills required to negotiate across all levels of the organization. Supporting a wide range of sponsors and stakeholders for the purposes of providing status updates and ensuring that all programs are meeting key milestones and success criteria.


Responsibilities:
  • Establishes and oversees the application of firmwide standards for operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Lead comprehensive risk challenge and support the firm reach appropriately designed control environment as well as balancing commercial decision making.  
  • Develop and maintain relationships across Risk Management, Operations, Technology, Transformation, Central Control and lines of defense to influence approach across the firm and appropriate alignment to firmwide minimum standards and policies.
  • Develop clear rationale and prioritization to support investment decision making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure scope is clear and deliverables and timelines are well defined and agreed by all.
  • Support Ops and Technology Teams to problem solve challenges meeting design requirements and agreement of path forward and mitigating measures.
  • Ongoing identification of enhancement opportunities and refinement of the control solution approach. Engaging Senior Leaders to provide options for future phase enhancements and leading up with Investment Request preparation.
  • Prepare senior management reporting and discussion materials to provide transparency and drive timely decision making.
  • Leads the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established program of work with stakeholders to ensure project scope definition.
  • Meets business objectives and work with program sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business objectives and creates/maintains KPIs and KRIs associated to business goals.
  • Support sustainability post implementation, develop feedback loops to ensure design gaps are identified and addressed on a timely basis.
  • Fostering a culture of operational risk awareness and ownership across the organization.
  • Provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis when defining problems and proposing solutions.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in Risk Management position (or equivalent)
  • Financial Services, Markets or Banking background.
  • Prior experience in Core Operations, Operational Risk Management, Risk Assurance, Risk Consulting, or Process Management roles. (preferred)
  • Solid proven experience in Portfolio or Program Management.
  • Ability to operate at different levels: to analyse issues, synthesize them. Develop themes. Understand risks, translate lessons learned into actions.
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to a fast-moving change environment. Strong communicator, written and oral across all levels of the organization, with ability to deliver succinct messages to senior sponsors across the firm.
  • Resilient and results oriented, with the ability to influence positive outcomes and deliver best class governance and controls.
  • Team player able to bring together wide range of individuals in pursuit of execution and progress.
  • Creativity. Adaptability, Drive and decisiveness to enable fast decision making, minimizing debate.
  • Ability to clearly define roles and responsibilities delegating to the appropriate team members.
  • Forward planning, and problem avoidance and solving skills. Leadership to drive execution while able to minimize tension and ensure the team operates efficiently.

Education:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent)

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$106,000.00 - $159,000.00
