The Business Analytics Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate data into consumer or customer behavioral insights to drive targeting and segmentation strategies, and communicate clearly and effectively to business partners and senior leaders all findings
  • Ensures analytics drive appropriate marketing investment decisions and marketing plan activities
  • Analyzes performance of marketing programs and business initiatives
  • Ensures analysis drives appropriate marketing investment decisions and marketing plan activities
  • Forecasting includes creation of key indicator curves and indices
  • Work closely with internal and external business partners in building, implementing, tracking and improving decision strategies
  • Makes and implements recommendations through the use of data analysis and segmentation methodologies
  • Integrates key profitability drivers and measures of success make pricing offer recommendations and performs adhoc analytical requests
  • Manages staff. Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions regarding staffing, pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Advanced analytical and business strategy skills

  • Ability to present to business partners and/or leaders to gain approvals
  • Project and process management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skill
  • Experience with a prior focus in financial services analytics

Business Analytics Manager (C12) Profile

Use Cases Team

Team/Function Overview:

Use Cases is a cross-sectional area within Data and Analytics dedicated to high impact projects that are a priority for the business. Based on cross-functional teams (with Product, Segment, Risk, Behavioral Economics, etc.) we analyze, design and implement new strategies through an Agile approach, characterized by flexible self-organized teams, with constant delivery of results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work together with other areas of the Bank (Product, Segment, Risk, Behavioral Economics and other analytical teams) in order to design and implement new strategies within GCB.
  • Identify high impact opportunities and propose strategies that will translate into portfolio growth and incremental revenues, through statistical techniques and models.
  • Create synergies with D&A CoEs (Centers of Expertise - Testing, Modeling, Pricing) and other business analytical teams in order to develop high impact use cases / projects.
  • Lead a group of analysts and manage use cases through an Agile approach.
  • Summarize key findings and present to top management.
  • Structure, do and validate analysis from various sources/categories (demographic, financial, Credit Bureau, transactional, social media, etc.).
  • Develop analytical tools which will help us to have a better understanding of our customers, the bank and the market.
  • Valuation and tracking of key initiatives.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience (at least 2 years in analytics, risk or related).
  • English level: Advanced
  • Team management experience – desirable.
  • MBA, Master in Finance, Data Science or related – desirable.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to translate numbers into actionable strategies
  • Skills and interest in programming and statistical analysis (experience with SAS, SQL, R or Python required) with innovative data science driven solutions.
  • Experience in predictive modeling and machine learning – desirable
  • Negotiation, leadership and communication (storytelling and data visualization) skills
  • Project management; Agile and Scrum knowledge – desirable
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Power Point + Knowledge of consumer banking products
  • Self-organized, collaborative, proactive and creative
  • Interpersonal skills; ability to create synergies with other teams
  • Willing to learn and can-do attitude
