Citi Finance is responsible for the firm’s financial management and related controls. The team comprises disciplines including Treasury, Tax, Controllers and Financial Planning & Analysis, and manages and partners on key Citi initiatives and deliverables, such as our quarterly earnings process and ensuring Citi’s compliance with financial rules and regulations.
We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Vice President, Financial Solutions Sr. Analyst - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Financial Solutions Sr. Analyst - C12) based in Manila, Philippines. The Controllers Finance organization is looking for a dynamic individual to help shape the future of the Finance organization. As part of Citi Finance’s transformation program, the Controllers Transformation team is charged with leading Finance’s efforts to provide accurate information of the highest quality to our customers, shareholders and regulators. Controllers Transformation processes are comprised of those sets of activities that begin with defining and establishing appropriate data standards and ensuring readiness for consumers, standardizing the accounting and processing of transactions to financial systems, implementing a comprehensive set of integrated financial closing processes, which then culminates with instituting common and optimized financial / regulatory reporting processes.
Controllers Transformation processes are the starting point for the majority of Finance activities and serve as a feeder to other global processes and areas of consumption. The role holder will be a change leader and actively engage Regulatory Reporting teams leads to help transform Finance’s global process.
The role holder will lead business process changes by understanding current state processes, helping to define the target state, partnering with Technology on the delivery of required infrastructure capability, and with client-facing and shared services teams in the transformation to the target state. A strong finance background, passion for driving change, navigating and overcoming obstacles, and working effectively independently and in team settings are critical to the role holder’s success and growth.
The role holder must be able to evaluate issues of varying complexities by developing an approach or action using multiple sources of information and weighing various alternatives and balancing potential conflicting situations. Requires excellent analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Conduct end-to-end reporting processes analysis to identify risks or challenges to implement Target Operating Model and drive detailed action plans and commitments to meet Onboarding plan targets.
- Lead working group, strategy planning and review sessions with Production Teams, Infrastructure, Technology and other Transformation teams to identify tactical and strategic remediation plan to address issues and risks.
- Responsible for Report Onboarding activities related to Process, Documentation and Transformation of Processes in Insight.
- In the transition period, assist users with future state infrastructure as go-life is rolled out.
- Respond to Business and Technology queries, conducting additional analysis if required.
- Oversee updated operational procedures and control documentation from Production Teams in alignment with Consent Order milestones.
- Develop and implement process improvements to streamline and standardize end-to-end reporting processes including the removal of legacy process and system silos while understanding the requisite level of detail required for successful implementations.
- Plan, coordinate and track project activities, ensuring measurable goals and alignment across teams, providing clear status updates for senior management.
- Define training requirements and coordinate the design and delivery of training materials.
- Manage multiple priorities while working with geographically diverse teams.
- Produce and maintain metrics highlighting key issues, remediation status and operational improvements.
- Engage in cross-functional working groups among Infrastructure modules from Insight reporting platform to facilitate prioritizations and seamless transformation of key reporting functions.
- Communicate dependencies between technology, operations, and implementation teams and escalate potential issues identified in working group sessions to successfully implement process and related system transformations.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Proven skills in strategic planning, project management and organizational structure
- 2-5 years of relevant experience within Finance, Regulatory Reporting, infrastructure transformation, project management implementation or related field, in the financial services industry required
- Knowledge of BCBS 239 principles and regulatory reporting
- Exceptional analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong and broad- based finance and internal control skills and attention to detail
- Proven track record of process transformations, including technology integration. Able to identify and drive change by thinking “out of the box”. Strong and demonstrated execution skills
- Clear and concise communication (written, verbal) skills
- Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong Problem-solving and critical thinking and root cause analysis
- Demonstrated success in collaborating and building relationships and influencing across the organization
