Vice President, IT Business Lead Analyst
The Technology Lead Business Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology & Business teams. The overall objective of this role is to undertake business analysis and manage end to end application development projects.
In this role, you’re expected to:
- Responsible for the successful delivery of projects in line with overall Operations Technology Book of works.
- Focus on business analysis and SME task over the project course by working with various stakeholders in Technology and Business teams.
- Drive technology projects with full responsibility and local ownership by engaging with both business and technology partners.
- QA of business process and supporting documentation with reference to project / regulatory expectations
- Identify, prioritize, and proactively manage dependencies, risks, exceptions, and issues.
- Effective communication with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the program / project
- Develop and deliver presentations to senior management covering project / program status and plans.
- Provide subject matter expertise for internal queries relating to appropriate projects.
- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop more junior Markets Ops technology team members.
- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience of business analyst in a Markets business environment
- Strong knowledge and experience in Japanese equity and other major financial products’ business, particularly in clearing and settlement.
- Proven track record of project delivery in Business Analyst role
- Demonstrable experience of running high impact projects / programs in a lead role
- Hands-on expertise in designing and implementing structured business/operational processes and associated business requirements documentation.
- Understanding of the development and application of project standards
- Strong technical background/hands-on experience on application development including GUI, middleware layer, database layer with Java, web technology, scripting language, database technology (MS-SQL, Oracle…etc) and middleware technology (EMS, MQ…etc)
- Demonstrated expertise in presenting and using project management tools.
- Proven ability to manage complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact by weighing various action plans and balancing potentially conflicting needs.
- Strong and well-rounded communications skills in both Japanese and English with the ability to talk to both technology and business stakeholders.
- Ability to negotiate and drive consensus across a diverse group of senior managers globally.
- Proactive in learning what solutions exist globally in Citi to introduce and implement in Japan.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Affable and a team player.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
