IT Quality Intmd Analyst - C11 - CHENNAI
The IT Quality Intmd Analyst is a technical role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks to enhance software quality. The role requires expertise in automation strategies, scripting, and CI/CD integration, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Applies analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to improve testing efficiency. Requires attention to detail when implementing test automation solutions and making recommendations based on test analysis. Typically deals with complex issues with broad business impact, applying professional judgment in assessing test results and defect resolution.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to work effectively across teams and ensure automation efforts align with project goals. Quality and timeliness of test automation deliverables will directly impact software releases and overall application stability.
Responsibilities:
- Supports initiatives related to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and product rollout into production. Testing specialists who work with technology project managers, UAT professionals and users to design and implement appropriate scripts/plans for an application testing strategy/approach.
- Supports test automation initiatives for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Designs, develops, and maintains automation frameworks for UI, API, and database testing.
- Conducts moderately complex test planning, execution, and defect tracking.
- Ensures automation scripts are reusable, scalable, and well-documented.
- Monitors software quality by executing automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines.
- Implements best practices for test data management, test environment setup, and defect reporting.
- Documents test results, identifies root causes, and provides recommendations for improvements.
- Ensures alignment of test automation with industry standards, company policies, and security guidelines.
- Works closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to enhance test coverage.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to junior test engineers on automation best practices.
- Appropriately assesses and escalates quality risks and test execution issues.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in Software Testing & Test Automation.
- Strong knowledge of test automation tools like Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, or RestAssured.
- Experience in API automation using Postman, RestAssured, or Karate.
- Proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, or JavaScript) for automation scripting.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD integration using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps best practices.
- Experience working with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, ALM, TestRail).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience in requirement reviews & able to identify, communicate and document discrepancies.
- Demonstrated logical analysis skills, attention to detail and problem solving Proven ability to work to deadlines.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s/ Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- ISTQB Certification or equivalent test automation certification (preferred).
