Product Control Senior Analyst - Assistant Vice President
The Product Control Senior Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records in coordination with the Finance team. The overall objective of this role is to control and support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution and new activity analysis, valuation control and product P&L and balance sheet reporting.
As part of the Price Risk & Volcker Reporting Team you will work with a team of diverse and supportive professionals, who are representing Markets Controllers in end-to-end process transformation programs. The team also owns the Profit & Loss Attribution Analysis (PAA) review and reporting process across functional siloes, geographies and businesses.
PAA is the formalized process of explaining business-reported revenue with reference to underlying risk sensitivities and has become a significant area of focus both internally and externally. PAA is one of the key tools in enabling Finance to gain understanding and insight into trading desk revenues.
With end-to-end global process ownership, Price Risk & Volcker Reporting Team is accountable for drive implementation of robust governance framework, measures, metrics, and reporting mechanisms of Profit & Loss Attribution Analysis.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive implementation of robust PAA reporting controls and governance framework
- Work closely and establish excellent business relationships with all areas of the Finance department, liaising with MQA, Risk, Business and Technology teams
- Efficiently solve complex, ambiguous problems/situations and identify opportunities to add value beyond the scope of formal projects
- Provide reporting or analyse data across key deliverables, including the identification and remediation of issues
- Use effective escalation to ensure issues are highlighted in a timely manner.
- Subject Matter Expert for PAA related policy and procedures
- Drive standardization efforts and work on ad-hoc projects to implement process improvement ideas
- Provide communication and training for key policy and process changes
Ideal background
- At least 5-8 years of relevant professional experience
- A university or college degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering is an advantage but not a must as we are open to other majors.
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Confident analytical and communication skills
- Controls focused mind-set
- Strong PC skills in Excel, Word. Training will be provided on other in house and industry standard systems used in this position.
