Team/Role Overview

The Technology Controls Team drives implementation of the firm’s controls standards across our technology functions as well as Enterprise Risk Management oversight, controls monitoring and testing, and issue remediation. The team drives risk reduction through root cause analysis and horizontal initiatives, provides governance and oversight of Compliance and Operational Risks.

As a Business Risk and Control Officer within the Technology Controls group, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing key initiatives designed to protect our Services, Markets, and Banking businesses. You will contribute directly to building a secure and resilient technology environment, mitigating risk, and ensuring operational stability.

What you’ll do:

• Champion key risk frameworks, including Enterprise Technology Risk Appetite and Managers Control Assessment, for SMB Technology. Collaborate cross-functionally to effectively manage technology risks identified by implementing well-designed and strategic controls.

• Proactively monitor and report on SMB Technology's performance, delivering key insights and gathering detailed remediation plans based on monthly/quarterly key indicators and control testing results.

• Oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging in scale, focused on implementing and enhancing risk management programs across Services, Markets, and Banking business lines and regions.

• Assist and participate on increasing process automation and efficiency implementation by analysing existing processes.

• Collaborate on and actively advance data observability enhancements to proactively identify and address technology risks.

• Create detailed thematic analysis and presentations.

What we’ll need from you:

• Proven expertise and experience in managing technology risks and implementing effective controls.

• Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be able to articulate and be persuasive with the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.

• Ability to analyse processes and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiency.

• Strong data analysis and management reporting skills leveraging tools like MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Experience with Tableau a bonus.

• Good project management skills with a proven ability to take ownership and successfully deliver key initiatives.
