Middle Office Derivatives Analyst – Entry Level

Team/Role Overview
Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and have significant impact across the lifecycle of a trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group, dedicated to overseeing the Organizational service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first-class experience when doing business with Citi.
This role is with the market operations derivatives team and we work directly with the structured notes trading desk globally. We act as an integral piece in terms of risk and control and a major factor in this is via reconciliations.
Our roles entail ensuring we operate in a robust control environment, whilst in a fast-paced workplace. We comply with global regulations and internal policies and adopt a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to reduce risk through the continuous evaluation of our controls; to protect our clients, the firm, and our reputation.
What you’ll do
Providing analytical and administrative support to Front Office Sales and Trading with derivatives and securities transactions
Maintain position records in coordination with the traditional trading desk assistant and / or trade processing functions
Support trade capture management, Front to Back reconciliation, identifying operational risk, trade confirmation and settlement forecasts
Identify control deficiencies, resolve issues and escalate control gaps and issues to senior management when appropriate
Escalate all issues in a timely manner and oversee client and business ad-hoc queries and requirements
Review existing processes / applications and identify opportunities for improvement
Implement and maintain effective controls for newly migrated asset classes in line with existing best practices for the equity-linked note business
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
