You will be part of the First Line Risk Management, responsible for Emerging and Concentration Risk in the Citi North America Cards business.  With a pre-eminent global brand and distribution, Citi North America is a market leader in the US credit card industry and maintains its leadership position by delivering industry-leading products, advanced services and payment systems that address clients’ evolving needs. You will lead and perform work related to Concentration risk, including: Actively identify risk pools associated with the business activities; Monitor and escalate material concentration risks to business management and risk;  Provide input to risk on concentration thresholds and incorporate these into limit setting practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform work related to Concentration risk, including: Actively identify risk pools associated with the business activities; Escalate material concentration risks to business management and risk;  Provide input to risk on concentration thresholds and incorporate these into limit setting practices; Ensure business activities that result in concentration risk are managed within approved risk limits, as applicable; Actively monitor, escalate and mitigate material and emerging concentration risks; Report and escalate material and emerging concentration risks to business line management including ECRM and risk, including documented action plans for limit breaches

  • Enhance and align business processes and controls to adhere to ECRM requirements, and perform a set of governance routines to ensure disciplined tracking of Inter Risk pool concentrations and proper escalation procedures and controls

  • Collaborate with Risk Modeling, Portfolio and New Account Forecasting, Data and Reporting teams through the annual stress testing processes (CCAR, Mid-cycle stress testing, Recovery Plan), and associated governance activities (Manager Control Assessment, End User Computing, Activity Risk Control Monitoring and its Assessment Units)

  • Work with the modeling team and economic forecasting team to ensure Macro-Economic metrics reconcile with the overall economic scenarios.

  • Provide Risk Management the most recent updates that includes the latest macro-economic trends and key emerging and economic risks to the portfolio

  • Produce economic, portfolio and industry analysis relevant to the US Branded Cards portfolio

  • Partner with internal and external organizations to understand sources of data and continue to improve the process of defining, extracting and utilizing data

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to answer senior leadership questions, and prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on areas of potential risk and/or opportunity

  • Utilize Statistical Analysis System (SAS) in a UNIX environment to perform risk, financial and data analyses including profiling, sampling and forecasting

  • Provide quantitative support, compose and develop governance documentation for review with internal and external audit teams (FCR, OCC, Federal Reserve Bank and FDIC), respond to requests and follow-up questions, and close corrective action plans.

  • Establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships and network with key internal and external constituencies

  • Drive continuous improvement of information controls with organizations outside of Risk to meet business objectives.

  • Establish and continually update standardized business and submission documentation.

  • Mentor new staff on existing processes and data sources

  • Automat existing processes and deliverables

Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more of experience in credit card risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry

  • Broad understanding of overall credit card business and key drivers of profit and loss

  • Vision and ability to provide innovative solutions to core business practices

  • Ability to develop partnerships across multiple business and functional areas

  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills; position also requires the ability to work with all levels within the organization to drive projects to completion.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a relative quantitative discipline

  • Masters degree, in a similar quantitative discipline preferred
