The Credit Portfolio Officer is a senior-level position responsible for leading activities including credit review, credit approvals and monitoring the portfolio performance. You will be part of the Co-branded Cards Risk Strategy team within U.S. Personal Banking, which is responsible for managing underwriting strategies for new accounts. You will have strong creative, integrative, and analytical capabilities, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop end-to-end risk strategies for new accounts, including credit criteria and line assignment

  • Develop risk framework and associated risk analytics to optimize targeting and underwriting strategies

  • Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods to identify underserved segments within risk appetite boundaries

  • Prepare the test data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and weighting the raw test results to design credit policies while balancing risk and return

  • Assess loss and profitability dynamics associated with credit decisions in distinct economic cycles (baseline and stress scenarios)

  • Utilize Statistical Analysis System (SAS) in a UNIX environment to perform risk, financial and data analyses including profiling, sampling, forecasting and new program due diligence

  • Establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships and network with key internal and external stakeholders (Marketing, Finance, Product, Second Line of Defense) to drive new projects including new product launch, enhanced tech capabilities and business initiatives

  • Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on expected portfolio performance and areas of potential risk and/or opportunity

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in credit card risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry

  • Proven ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and prioritize

  • Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master's degree preferred
