The Instructional Designer mainly provides training and learning program and design support for the Global GFIU PTS Organization. This includes the design of training materials, programing of content, assessment development, communication of training requirements, course development and program maintenance. This position will consult with the Training Programs Managers, stakeholders, business requestors and other PTS Members to understand training requirements, timing, learning solutions, impacts to training curriculums and evaluation objectives to build and deliver learning solutions. Design training based on principles of adult learning using a variety of instructional methods and media appropriate for the proposed learning objectives to predominately Analyst populations with a focus on job application. Tracking and meeting administrative process requirements is critical for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Determine appropriate training solutions for assigned projects, based on the outcome of analyzing business needs, performance goals, and audience.
  • Design and develop training solutions to support instructor-led, self-directed or blended classroom training models as required.
  • Design process requires: needs assessments; task analysis; research of knowledge tasks; working with subjects matter experts to validate content; and the creation of supporting design documents including story boards and mock-ups.  Design also includes the creation of training assessments/tests. 
  • Development includes: constructing end-user materials, facilitator guides, assessments, translations and writing supporting documentation.
  • Create measurement strategy for client solutions to include the overall assessment approach as well as the design and development of data collection tools and methods to measure the impact of training.
  • Create project plans, timelines and documentation.
  • Work extensively with subject matter experts, project teams of varying sizes, and business stakeholders at multiple levels.

Qualifications

  • Well versed in adult learning theory and instructional design methodology and process.
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating adult learning theory, practices, and methodologies into the creation of training materials used in a business setting.
  • Strong learning technology and course design experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical/probing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated project and process management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent instructional design projects.
  • Team oriented, accountable, and self-motivated. 
  • Two or more years of instructional design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the Banking, Mortgage, and/or Financial Services industry designing and development training for sales, service representative, customer contact and call center is preferred.
