Citi Solutions Center is the main EU banking entity for Citi in EMEA with a presence in 22 European countries. It covers several key business lines including Markets and Securities Services, Risk, Treasury and Trade Services, Corporate and Investment Banking, Consumer and others.

Job Purpose:

In response to heightened standards and expectations, both from management and regulators across the region, several key initiatives in EMEA require deeper involvement and technical expertise from Risk, specifically in the areas of ICAAP models (both Pillar 2 and Stress Loss) and IFRS 9 credit risk models. To make this effort efficient across the region, a new centralized Regional unit is being established.

This role will be responsible for delivering reporting and analytical solutions within the Regional IFRS 9 unit under the EMEA CRO’s team. Focus of the role will be on enhancement and execution of key analytical capabilities of the team and interacting with internal stakeholders across EMEA countries on risk exposure data analysis.

The role is a part of integrated regional team, covering all EMEA countries, and responsible for providing IFRS 9 related support in areas including: advanced analytics, reporting, modelling overlays etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in development of Regional IFRS 9 analytical capabilities, covering 40+ countries in EMEA

  • Contribute to development of regional analytical and reporting IFRS 9 solutions

  • Work closely with Global, Regional and in-country peers addressing local regulatory IFRS 9 requirements

  • Interact with internal stakeholders from Risk, Finance, QRS and Country Management on a regular basis

  • Improve, expand and execute analytical capabilities of the team

  • Prepare regular materials and ad-hoc deliverables for individual countries

  • Perform data quality and variation analysis, execute internal control processes

  • Assist with enhancement and automation of ad-hoc analytical processes

  • Support a range of other analytical initiatives within EMEA CRO Office

As part of the EMEA CRO Office, it is anticipated that the centralized Regional unit will be called on to assist with contemporary initiatives and challenges, thus ensuring cross-functional exposure to what matters most in EMEA. The role provides a unique visibility within Regional CRO team and opportunities to learn across a broad range of functional areas, including: Risk Management, Finance and Stress testing.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

  • Good understanding of how to interpret and address business data requests

  • Knowledge and understanding of basic Finance and Accounting principles is an advantage

  • Knowledge of credit risk measures and risk data systems is an advantage

  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to come up with data driven conclusions

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with ability to articulate complex concepts across diverse stakeholders

  • Very good English knowledge, both spoken and written

  • Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

  • Extensive years of experience in financial services sector


  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or another field with analytical focus (Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, etc.) is require
