FRE Team is looking for a Systems Engineer that will cover implementation, maintenance and support of various Unix infrastructure components within DART

Experience & Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years implementing and supporting diverse Unix environments of various complexities, involving:

  • Knowledge of UNIX and LINUX operating systems, storage environments, file systems, and network protocols
  • Managing storage/file systems
  • Setting up and maintaining UNIX user accounts, access management systems and security policies
  • Monitoring system performance
  • Detecting and troubleshooting software and hardware issues
  • Creating and managing backup and recovery policies

Working knowledge or the following products/technologies is required:

  • Unix OS (installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting)
  • Storage/file systems, including NFS, GPFS, Volume groups and logical volumes
  • Virtualization and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Shell scripting

Optional/beneficial experience may include:

  • Administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX)
  • DevOps platforms, technologies and tools (e.g. CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git)
  • Knowledge of cloud concepts, including grid computing, public cloud infrastructure and distributed computing technologies
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Automation software (e.g. Puppet, cfengine, Chef)
  • Knowledge of Windows Server OS
  • Knowledge of networking principles including TCP/IP, routing, subnets, VLANs
  • SSO systems
  • Database products (MongoDB, MySQL, etc.)
  • Monitoring systems

Personal Skills Required:

  • Great communication skills
  • Great troubleshooting skills
  • Being responsible, punctual and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage own projects and workload
