Operational Risk Senior Analyst (Hybrid)
The Operational Risk Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work flow for the area or function. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Has significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Responsibilities:
Participates in the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
Contributes to risk assessments and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
Executes a comprehensive ops control plan under oversight of Operations Control Manager, which includes on site reviews & monitoring of key indicators, high risk accounts & processes as per the defined frequency.
Monitors progress on all Trade & Treasure Services (TTS) Client Operations related audits and regulatory reviews in country, providing support to TTS Client Operations in the preparation and management associated with internal and external audits.
Contributes to the management and coordination of risk and control related initiatives to ensure the effectiveness of control environment.
Ensures relevant people are aware and well trained on risks and controls, based on corporate standards as they are released/ modified.
Contributes to the preparation of weekly Risk & Control updates, monthly Operation Controls MI decks, data analysis reports, capturing any issues, themes, exceptions.
Qualifications/Skills:
5-8 years relevant experience
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of risk & control essentials
Customer focused with excellent Interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment collaborating across diverse groups
Demonstrated understanding of operational risk and gap identification
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Good command of MS Office applications and knowledge of reporting
Knowledge of client operations would be an advantage
Analytical inquisitiveness and problem solving, ability to ask insightful questions, work through complexity and identify issues/exceptions clearly
Needs to communicate complex ideas simply and compellingly
