The Client organization was established to drive enterprise-wide approaches to client coverage, identifying and filling in gaps or reducing duplication to ensure consistency throughout the firm. Additionally, it plays a leading role coordinating the allocation of capital and other financial, technology and human resources towards the client segments with the best returns potential. Finally, it is responsible for managing wholesale credit and counterparty risk for the organization.

This role will report into the In-Business Central Controls & Enhancement Monitoring and Reporting Lead in ICM and will focus on performing ongoing control monitoring and independent control testing.

The Central Controls & Enhancements team is based all across the globe in Tampa, Mexico, London, Mumbai and Warsaw. This team owns all supervisory and conduct metrics for the department and is tasked with the identification of best practices and processes, the integration / centralization of controls across legacy organizations, analyses and implementation of enhancements, process flow mapping and maintenance, and coordination with other ICG Controls teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis to support governance and support in the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e., Risk & Control Self-Assessment) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.
  • Provide support in assessing the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy, and Control Inventory.
  • Planning, testing and monitoring of key controls which have been identified for each (credit) product line and document results / reports on findings.
  • Ensuring appropriate remedial actions are in place where control deficiencies are identified, incl. performing root cause analysis.
  • Providing governance and oversight over ICM controls.
  • Identification and implementation of Control Testing enhancements.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


  • 2-5 years relevant experience (internal operation audit role profile or equivalent is a plus).
  • Experience in working with the various risk and control systems and reporting requirements.
  • Project management skills. Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and adapt to change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Capability to work with multi-disciplinary teams from different regions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and cross functional organizations.
  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
