Responsibilities
The Letter of Credit and Payment Specialist is responsible for processing Letter of Credit transactions, specifically the issuance, confirmation, advising and other trade products settlement activities.
Responsibilities
- Properly record letters of credit activities in banking systems
- Ensure that letter of credit transactions are in adherence with client and issuing bank's instructions, UCP600/ISP98, and internal credit, compliance and regulatory procedures
- Handle all payments and fees related to letter of credit and documentary collection
- Identify risk-related issues and report any discrepancies
- Provide assistance to client services and internal teams as needed
- Handle the SWIFT and related processing
- Provide cross-training assistance for less experienced staff
- Participate as a member of trade services project team as required
Requirements
- Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
- Experience in operational department
- Knowledge of general banking functions
- International trade or payments, wire transfers, ACH processing experience would be an advantage
- Detail-oriented
- Team player
- Good time management skills
