Internal Audit Innovation - Data Analytics Lead Analyst - Personal Banking & Wealth Management (Hybrid)
The Audit Innovation function is looking for a Data Analytics Lead Analyst to join the Product and Function Team. The Audit Innovation function works with members of Internal Audit to identify automation opportunities and develop processes to support the development of audit analytics. The candidate must be proficient in the development and use of analytics technology and tools to provide automated solutions that enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness and have functional knowledge of banking processes and related risks and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and subject matter expertise in the development of audit processes improvements.
Working with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their needs.
Pro-actively participate in the data acquisition process working with audit teams and technology teams to identify and get access to varied data points.
Pro-actively develop automated routines/repeatable solutions to help focus audit testing.
Ability to take ownership of the development process from requirements to implementation of analytics solutions.
Promoting solution usage of delivered solutions and ability to showcase solutions to audit stakeholders from a risk and control lens.
Providing coaching to junior team members regarding the use of automation in all phases of the audit process and knowledge sharing on key technology topics.
Ability to perform diligent self-reviews and peer reviews of work product with attention to completeness and accuracy of data.
Participate in audit support in all phases (business monitoring, planning, fieldwork and reporting) and campaigning the use of existing/new analytics solutions to risks and controls.
Understanding of audit methodology and professional standards.
Develop professional relationships with audit teams to assist in the definition of audit analytics opportunities.
Develop effective working relationships with technology and business management of the area being audited.
Promoting continuous improvement in all aspects of audit automation activities (e.g., technical environment, software, operating procedures) and aligning to data governance standards.
Assist product function SVP in preparing monthly reporting presentations with awareness of the team’s book of work items.
Key Qualifications and Competencies
6+ years of data analytics experience in providing automated solutions to business needs.
Advanced skills in Excel and one of the following technical skills: SAS, SQL, Python, Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Sqoop, Pyspark).
Advanced skills in at least one of the following Data Visualization would be a plus: MicroStrategy, QlikView, Tableau
Excellent analytical ability to understand business processes, related risks and controls and develop innovative audit analytics based upon audit needs.
Strong interpersonal and multicultural skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external audit and management.
Self-driven, problem-solving approach. Understanding of procedures and following these to keep quality and security of processes.
Experience of the following areas would be a plus:
- Business Intelligence including use of statistics, data modelling, data mining and predictive analytics
- Exposure to Personal Banking business, Wealth Management business, Consumer business, Retail business, Technology and Data functions
- Big Data analysis including big data dedicated use like HUE, Hive
- Project Management / Solution Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to Process mining software such as Celonis
