Infrastructure Solution Architect

The Infrastructure Solution Architect is a seasoned professional role, who applies in-depth knowledge and experience, obtained in support of IT applications and the infrastructure technology they run on. A person who understands solution design building blocks and can recognize areas where improvements may be made.  Resulting in highly available, sufficiently performing systems, at the best cost possible.  They would be familiar with many infrastructure platforms, providing IT services within the private cloud, while being aware of similar services offered within the public cloud space.  A general knowledge of the financial services industry and how technology supports and enables those services is extremely beneficial.  

Responsibilities

• Supporting CTI businesses as a trusted advisor for all solution tasks.

• Engage in routine discussions with stakeholders (Systems and Database Administrators, Tech Teams and Business representatives) regarding Application/Business requirements.

• Work with peers in Technology Infrastructure teams (Servers, Storage, Network) in design of best solution.

• Ability to take ALL elements of a solution design and capture in both a narrative and diagram (Visio) form in such a way that stakeholders can understand.

• Optimize cloud resource utilization, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient management of on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.

• Provide recommendations on when to use Private Cloud vs. Public Cloud vs. Hybrid Cloud approaches, depending on business needs, security, and cost considerations.

• Work with client stakeholders in the migration of existing applications to new strategic technology platforms, and the adoption of new applications into Citi.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5 plus years IT hands-on relevant experience working directly with Enterprise Technology Solutions, supporting large organizations.

• Experience with Public Cloud platforms (AWS, Google, Azure).

• Demonstrates problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading edge technology and/or integrating diverse user systems.

• Hands-on experience or solution design experience with Private Cloud platforms like VMware vSphere, OpenStack, or Nutanix.

• Strong understanding of Hybrid Cloud architectures, including orchestration tools and platforms like Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, or Red Hat OpenShift.

• Experience in workload migration between on-premise data centers and public clouds in a Hybrid Cloud environment.

• Knowledge of network architecture, storage management, and virtualization in Private Cloud configurations.
