Responsibilities
The Head of TRUST Operations will be responsible for leading operations for Private Bank – TRUST Business of the Wealth, a critical and growing division of the Wealth business. This role will focus on bringing best practices, ideas, and processes into the organization, to help make the client experience superior while ensuring acute focus on risk management. The TRUST Operations leader will partner closely with the CWM leadership team, TRUST COO, BRM and O&T Colleagues to deliver client focused solutions and enhancing the operational support model for Wealth.
Full management responsibility of 80+ team members located globally, including management of people, budget, and planning. Operational team located in the Bahamas, Jersey, Singapore, India, and Switzerland providing services to the Citi Trust International Business. Lead process transformation for local Bahamas and global teams that provide Operational support to the Citi Trust International Business and act as a senior manager in the Bahamas providing support to the Citi Trust International managed companies as well as locally based businesses operating out of affiliate entities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead 80+ team member global operations team that delivers measurable competitive advantage in support of Private Bank TRUST Operations business
• Partner with Business stakeholders to understand business needs and create roadmap to current and future client demand is meet and exceeded
• Review and analysis of end-to-end processes and demonstrable ability to deploy industry best practices to meet business needs
• Design an industry leading TRUST Operations team and capabilities in alignment with the business objectives
• Lead global teams across geographies promoting a culture of continuous improvement and cultivating a robust service and control environment
• Development of goals and objectives to improve operating procedures, controls and overall service provided by the group to clients
• Responsible for effectively identifying and managing the business risk and ensuring that the team’s performance standards are met
• Establish robust metrics and KPIs to measure team performance
• Leverage technology to automate controls and streamline processes
• Own communication and problem resolution, including O&T management updates
• Manage global and trust center specific functions owned by Ops team and local processes/teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and cultivating a robust service and control environment
Core functions include:
• Global Fee billing – Annual, Quarterly and Ad hoc billing for all clients
• Client Financial Statement production– (Balance Sheet and P&L, and cash flow statement for certain jurisdictions) and reviews for each trust and PIC on an annual basis
• Document Management and Control – Imaging, Vaulting and Archiving of Documents
• Special Services and Reconciliation team – booking journal entries, execute payments, reconcile the monthly Trust revenue for the different legal books; ensure reconciliations are performed in time
• Serve as a Senior Member of Management responsible for the Oversight of Private Bank managed entities, which may include serving on the legal entity Boards or being a registered representative with local regulators
• Appropriate escalation of significant issues and regulatory breaches
• Oversee Vendor management
• Responsible to establish/retain strong and diverse talent for supporting the function
• Represent Operations & Technology at the Country Coordinating Committee, Risk review, TRUST board meeting and other country governance and regulatory committees as required by Citi policies and standards.
Qualification:
• Business Management, Accounting / finance, or related university degree
• Experience within Trust or wealth management operations
• Good knowledge of Accounting concepts and Principles and understanding of financial instruments
• Highly effective influencing, relationship management and collaboration skills
• Excellent communication skills required to influence a wide range of audiences.
• Exceptional track record in people leadership. Strong senior stakeholder management experience.
• Strong focus on Control and Process optimization and documentation
• Organized with an excellent attention to detail
• Proven project and process management skills to drive automation and transformation
• Ability to integrate and work in a global work environment and adaptability to different work cultures
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with required prioritization, while maintaining high quality and accuracy of work
• Metrics driven and ability to apply technology to automate and improve efficiency of manual processing tasks
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
