AML ACRM KYC Risk Evaluation Management (REM) Program Design VP

Global ACRM KYC Risk Evaluation Management (KYC REM) is responsible for conducting risk evaluation reviews for new and existing clients with certain high-risk attributes.  The REM Team reviews the potential AML risks associated with certain prospective and existing clients so that the client does not present undue legal, regulatory or reputational risk to Citi.  To ensure completeness and accuracy of a client record, REM works in partnership with many partners during periodic review of the client.

The Global KYC Risk Evaluation Program Design VP will be responsible for driving reengineering efforts, technology management, and delivering program enhancements for KYC REM.  



Responsibilities:

  • Strategically develop and implement enhancements to the KYC REM Program to make it more efficient
  • Drive/develop technological builds that enhance KYC REM oversight and consistency (various reports, Archer, CitiKYC enhancements)
  • Work closely with various KYC functions (ACRM line of Business, Policy, Design, Regional REM Hubs, Learning and Development, QC) and business stakeholders to resolve issues, provide guidance, and work collaboratively for the benefit of the program.
  • Drive re-engineering efforts, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead effort with Regions for a Country Appendix initiative that allows for more end-to-end KYC Profile reviews in Regional REM Hubs and creation/maintaining of Country Appendix KYC REM procedures for enhanced efficiency of risk evaluations conducted
  • On-site with EMEA and better time zone alignment with APAC to act as a KYC REM Advisory function to resolve REM Program related items (Procedures, Case logs, process  transitions, regional application of concepts, Time Studies)
  • Lead effort to incorporate systems outside of CitiKYC and OneSource to be transitioned to KYC REM
  • Draft new/modify existing procedures and new/modify existing IPs that impact KYC REM
  • Develop and enhance controls for the KYC REM program
  • Engage with IA/CA on various REM processes being tested

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ of experience
  • Master’s Degree and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Certification Preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Recent working knowledge of AML legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • General understanding of Senior Public Figures, Money Service Businesses, Wealth Management, and Retail Banking preferred, as well as Citi lines of business, client categories, and compliance within those business segments.
  • Experience in the application of KYC/CDD/EDD requirements.
  • Ability to rapidly comprehend new and complex correspondent banking products.
  • 6+ years' work experience in Compliance-related functions within, but not limited to, the following areas:
    • AML
    • Compliance
    • Risk management
    • Know your customer reviews/Enhanced Due Diligence for high-risk accounts
    • Financial crime investigations
  • Commitment to understanding country-specific principles and business knowledge related to AML regulations.
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented leader with exceptional skills in relationship management, communication, and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Proactive, organized, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with open-source research techniques and understanding of the intelligence cycle.
  • Must be able to multi-task and complete projects on time.
  • Understanding appropriate escalation and follow-up methods when potential AML risk is identified.
  • Ability to independently refer to policies and procedures and put into context with regards to this role.

  • Master’s degree/ University degree or equivalent experience
