The Mkt Segments & Svcs Specialist is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.


  • Product strategy and product management for key capabilities, as well as development of new capabilities and solutions based on market demand
  • P&L Management (reporting and analyzing financials to ensure goals are being met)
  • Assembles a holistic picture of where the product is currently, how clients view it, how it compares to competition, and where it needs to go in the future

This is a key hire to support the Emerging Receivables Product team within Citi Canada Product. The Canada TTS business is entering a transformative period highlighted by an aggressive industry payments modernization plan, ongoing application rationalization, and a rapid deployment & commercialization of value-added products and services.

Reporting to the Emerging Receivables Product Head for Canada, this role has accountability for a number of strategic products and other projects as assigned. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow product revenue, reduce expense and maximize profit margin results
  • Oversee day-to-day product management for core products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies through monitoring key product measures, identify actions necessary and lead corrective actions
  • Execute client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients
  • Lead New Product Launch efforts through governance activities all the way through to commercialization inclusive of marketing campaigns and creation of sales content and training
  • Ensure that the product programs reflect the local market needs of Canadian clients in addition to alignment with Citi’s regional and global strategies as well as Citi’s policies and local regulations.
  • Maintain a good understanding of market conditions, competition, and client needs and adapt the product suite accordingly.
  • With respect to Product development and any infrastructure changes, the role provides support for projects, including writing business requirements, collaboration and confirmation of FRD’s, satisfaction of Citi's governance criteria, compliance with AML and business risk requirements, review and approval of test plans and sign-off on production launch and all the way through to commercialization of the new product
  • Provide thought leadership and expertise to clients, prospects and internal partners
  • Manage business risk & compliance across suite of products, including completion of all audits, legal, tax risk, vendor governance, and compliance and regulatory reporting, including MCA’s and CAP follow ups
  • Work closely with control functions and external partners to complete card acquiring documentation, ensure seamless settlement process, and billing structure in line with the Spring by Citi global design
  • When necessary, act as the Product Lead for Production Validation Testing (PVT) during new product enhancements. This includes project management of testing script, execution of test scenarios, and development of weekly project updates to key stakeholders. 
  • Experience in Credit Card Acquiring and Product Commercialization will be an asset
