The WCR Chief Operating Office reports directly to the CRO of Wholesale Credit Risk (“WCR”) and has responsibility for coordinating across all the Wholesale Credit Risk teams to ensure efficient management of multi-disciplinary processes. This includes coordination of regulatory responses, active participation in all the key implementation initiatives affecting wholesale credit, project management oversight, issue management and other critical controls for the independent risk management of Citi's ICG products and clients globally.  

COO partners with 1st, 2nd and 3rd line units to leverage opportunities to improve processes and tools. The organization will continue to build a strong governance culture for WCR Risk and interface globally with regulators to ensure continuity, consistency, and clarity in our interactions.

Wholesale Credit Risk Rating Process Management is a newly created team under the WCR COO organization which will be responsible for development and implementation of an enhanced end-to-end risk rating process for institutional credit portfolios.

Wholesale Risk Rating Documentation Manager will be responsible for:

  • Implementation and maintenance of risk rating framework (including but not limited to process maps, operating procedures or desk aids) that clearly articulates roles and responsibilities for Citi’s end-to-end management of obligor risk ratings and identifying risk rating process streamlining opportunities.
  • Work with risk rating Model Sponsors, Credit and Obligor Risk Analytics (“CORA”) and Model Risk Management (“MRM”) to ensure that model documentation is consistent and meets MRM policies and guidelines.
  • Comply with internal guidelines in relation to risk rating models in coordination with various stakeholders and stay updated on any changes and additional requirements. When requirements change, partner with Sponsors and CORA to implement the new standard. Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls.
  • Creation, maintenance and control of central repository of Risk Rating User Guidelines and Operating Manuals that provide clarity and insight for Model Users and Model Sponsors and insure appropriate governance for updates.  Work closely with CORA and sponsors of risk rating models to ensure consistency and completeness.
  • Development of training materials to support changes in risk rating approaches on ongoing basis and ensure consistency of internal documentation in relation to risk ratings.
  • Contribute to defining and implementing best practices for the risk rating training materials and guidance documents and ensure transparency and consistency across teams.
  • Change management: along with changes of respective internal or external regulations, ensure consistency of guidance documents and training materials. Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls.
  • Support the development of other credit training curriculum and guidance documents in the area of wholesale risk ratings.
  • Work closely with the policy owners and internal stakeholders such as Risk Managers, Business, ICM , Finance, Fundamental Credit Risk and Internal Audit, staying aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Tracking remediation plans in relation to risk rating standards, procedures and risk rating models documentation to ensure consistency of the proposed solutions.
  • Leverage existing MRM reporting to monitor Model Development Documents (“MDD”) for risk rating models deliverables and create dashboards and status reporting. 
  • Support preparation of responses for regulators and internal audit on MDDs.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of credit risk, credit products and risk rating processes as well as related regulatory rules.
  • Clear understanding of the implications of policies and regulatory directives, specifically from the perspective of the development of a robust internal documentation.
  • Clear understanding of the implications of other Citi policies and regulatory directives, specifically from the perspective of the development of robust controls and escalation framework for the Wholesale Credit risk rating process.
  • Ability to meet deadlines for product deliverables in a timely, proactive, and entrepreneurial manor.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to discuss technical issues with partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a collaborative environment.

Qualifications & skills:

  • 6+ years experience in wholesale credit risk management, model risk management, model development and other control functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to discuss technical issues with partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a collaborative environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree.
