About the Group:

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) within Independent Risk Management is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the principles articulated in Citi’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework and for the performance of specific enterprise-level risk management programs and processes that span the organization, the lines of defense and various risk categories. These programs and processes include risk identification, risk appetite & limits, risk frameworks & policy, enterprise risk analytics, new activity risk management and strategic risk. The group is headed by the Head of ERM who reports directly to the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer (CRO).

About the Team:

As part of this function, the Risk Appetite & Limits team is responsible for designing and driving enhancements to strengthen the firm’s approach to risk appetite and limits. The team’s book of work is constructed to deliver a clearly articulated risk appetite that is connected to firm-wide processes, cascaded within firm and that is supported by metrics, limits and assessments that ensure a risk profile that is consistent with the firm’s defined risk appetite. The team is led by the Head of Risk Appetite & Limits who reports to the Head of ERM.

About the Role:

The current opening is for a Vice President supporting the team’s Risk Appetite & Limit Framework. The objective of the role is to contribute to the management of transformation efforts associated with the firm’s risk appetite and limit framework. This initiative is global in scope encompassing an extensive set of stakeholders and activities. It involves the design and implementation of critical aspects of our risk appetite & limit management target state.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and execution of enhancements to further align Citi’s risk appetite with strategic planning and capital stress testing processes
  • Lead execution of components of the book of work with timely and effective outcomes against regulatory and firm expectations

  • Partner with internal teams to support on-time delivery of program requirements and administration of issues and corrective actions

  • Ensure various working groups and one-on-one contacts with stakeholders are effectively organized, administered and minuted to support delivery against the key milestones in the program schedule

  • Ensure quality and on-time preparation of senior management and Board-level committee materials, meeting minutes and follow-ups and materials for audit and regulatory communication

  • Plan, direct and coordinate components of the day-to-day activities of running the program

  • Escalate program risks, when appropriate

  • Support regulatory and audit reviews at various levels

The candidate will have organizational exposure to senior management and subject matter experts across businesses and functions, including the Citigroup CRO and their leadership team. Finally, successful delivery of this work will directly impact the firm’s core business and risk management practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a role that requires critical thinking, problem solving and excellent oral / written communication skills

  • Previous experience in firm-wide projects or processes within a financial institution, including but not limited to CCAR, strategic planning, financial planning and analysis, and balance sheet / interest rate risk management
  • Solid organizational skills and time management skills, ability to multi-task and identify and escalate issues
  • Experience interacting with senior management, regulators, internal audit
  • Prior consulting experience a plus
  • Undergraduate / Master's degree(s) with an analytical focus (e.g., finance, economics, etc.)
