Description
The Finance, Treasury, Liquidity, Capital, and Risk functions at Citi are consumers of a vast amount of data that spans across the entirety of the firm, cutting across all lines of business, asset classes, and geographies. To meet the needs of these functions, a large, centralized data platform has been developed to enable the acquisition of data from all appropriate sources across the firm The scale of data that flows through this platform is significant, with thousands of inbound feeds being managed daily, dozens of consuming applications, and a 100+ terabyte data store in the middle. While there have been efforts made to automate integration and regression testing, we need to increase our investment in both automated testing tools and driving a test-first mindset in our requirement management and engineering practices.
The Project Senior Manager will report directly to the Release and Process Governance Manager Lead, who is responsible for overall health of Risk, Finance, and Controls IT programs Release Management and SDLC. The candidate will define, design, implement (and manage ongoing production of) Program and Project tracking and reporting capabilities to support application delivery teams in their adherence to corporate program and project governance. This role will be involved in opportunities to build/improve Release Management processes, including development of a suite of proactive reporting, visualization, and communication, leveraging the data within multiple complex enterprise project management tools, to advise senior technology managers of the overall health of their initiatives and identify areas that require remediation.
This role will require strong Project Management and Release Management knowledge with a Quality Engineering perspective. This technology leader should be someone who can drive innovation and implementation, while balance priorities, complexities, and risk as it relates to Data Quality Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of projects within a release, ensuring that all activities are planned and coordinated across multiple systems and applications to produce a quality release of code to
- Execute status meetings with Project Managers, partner with Project Managers, Project stakeholders and drive releases to completion.
- Prepare and produce project status, Issue/Risk log and RAG reports for senior management.
- Preparation of weekly and monthly operational metrics reports including cost savings status and forecasts.
- Participate in project governance and provide detailed metrics on project quality controls measures as related to Release Management.
- Deploy appropriate methods and tools to drive implementation releases.
- Leads reengineering efforts in business's methodology, strategy, and organizational goals.
- Applies/demonstrates advanced understanding of processes, procedures, and policies for aligned business.
- Influences strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services that have direct impact on the business.
- Completes projects to acquire data, manage it, and present it for use in reporting and statistics.
- Documents platform processes, procedures, and training materials.
- Leads discussions and requirement gathering sessions, reaching consensus, and recommending solutions on system issues and projects.
- Responsible for developing the agenda pipeline and facilitating meetings.
- Interface and build strong rapport with all stakeholders.
- Facilitate structured meetings and diligently capture and track action items to closure.
- Translate strategy into actionable plan with defined ownership and roles/responsibilities and ensure delivery of activities.
- Create a governance structure for managing complex activities that involve multiple businesses, technology, marketing, communications, training and control partners.
- Manage roadmap that can be used to drive priorities, identify dependencies and ensure appropriate engagement with clients and participants.
- Provide transparency and reporting to stakeholders and senior management.
- Provide mechanisms to capture & monitor remediation of any potential risks. In addition, enable appropriate escalation of any item that may impact timely delivery or cause a change to the agreed scope of project.
- Ensure accurate and consistent reporting of activities across all governance forums outside of direct control.
- Lead iterative delivery of key strategic cross-functional program, through focus, transparency, communication, visibility, and accountability.
- Own regular program communication, unblock teams and build partnerships.
- Develop standards, processes, and documentation to improve best practices & compliance -- including reviews, awareness, education and process controls.
- Provides expertise in projects managed and demonstrates an advanced level of understanding of the principles of IT project leadership.
- Possesses an understanding of client core business functions.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Program or Project management experience, working within a technology delivery PM function with experience in organizing, analyzing and visualizing enterprise data to enable data-driven decision making and actions, with emphasis in SDLC and Release Management across large and complex organizations.
- 5+ years of financial industry experience in Finance, Risk / Trading.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Safe, etc.).
- Strong skills in creating process documents, program management/planning, presentations, and communication.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to successfully coordinate and lead a meeting of senior and technical individuals.
- Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience building Agile roadmaps, release plans, project plans with a thorough understanding of dependency management.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver large, complex projects iteratively with multiple dependencies and constraints, in a highly dynamic and Agile environment.
- Experience managing major organizational change programs.
- Independent self-starter who can manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlines.
- Possess a strong executive presence.
- Skilled in business process optimization, Lean Six Sigma
- Strong presentation skills, including ability to create polished PowerPoint presentations for various levels of management.
- Strong project management background
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- 5+ years technical experience in a development/engineering role.
- Consulting experience is preferred but not required.
- Data warehouse and analytics experience -Understand Banking and Finance data model.
- Scrum Master certification.
- Experience with ITIL, Data Lineage, Inventory Management, CMDB, ServiceNow, APIs, CI/CD, DevOps
