The Capital Planning team within Citi Treasury is responsible for all aspects of capital analysis, forecasting, and planning for Citi, including providing programmatic leadership for the firm’s capital ratios; CCAR; and Recovery & Resolution Planning. The organization spans the full capital planning continuum, with the Head of Capital Planning reporting to the Citi Treasurer.

The Capital Planning Communications and Finance Team (i) manages Capital Planning’s engagement with regulators; (ii) coordinates production of internal presentations to Citi senior management and the Board; and (iii) oversees Capital Planning’s headcount management, Continuity of Business (CoB), Records Management, and other matters, including financials and budget-related processes.

This role supports the Capital Planning Communications and Finance team with a specific focus on supporting senior management in producing strategic analysis for the board/senior management, managing the group’s regulatory interactions, specifically during the CCAR Exam, and contribute to the team’s headcount management and financials process. The successful candidate will get hands-on exposure to the end-to-end Capital Planning process working closely with subject matter experts within and outside of Capital Planning to drive the timely delivery and execution of various deliverables. This is a highly strategic role that will provide significant exposure to senior management. The ability to work under pressure and to meet tight timelines is required.


Responsibilities:

  • Produce strategic analysis for Citi senior management, relevant committees and the Board, providing consistent and streamlined messaging
  • Manage Capital Planning’s regulatory exams, including management of exam calendar, firm-wide coordination of requests and associated responses, and driving follow-ups to completion
  • Support the coordination of Capital Planning’s monthly and ad-hoc meetings with regulators, develop meeting content, and liaise with key stakeholders
  • Partner within Capital Planning and across the firm to develop ad-hoc strategic analysis
  • Produce headcount reporting for senior management highlighting key insights such as existing headcount onboard, hiring progress against targets, and staff attrition
  • Partner with stakeholders in Capital Planning and Controllers to coordinate reporting of Transformation-related headcount
  • Primary point of contact for partners within Treasury Finance to track inflow and outflow of individual resources within Capital Planning
  • Assist Capital Planning management with coordination and execution of targeted hiring strategies and initiatives (i.e., staffing agencies; consultants; third party recruiters)
  • Various ad-hoc projects with continuous communications and interaction across multiple workstreams, businesses and functions

Successful Candidates Will Possess: 

  • 5+ years relevant experience within the financial services industry preferred.
  • Experience in regulatory capital management, regulatory reporting, or FP&A a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills, strong communications skills and exceptional leadership ability.  
  • Proactive, strong attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to manage and drive multiple deliverables and competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Strong relationship management skills including the ability to collaborate with multiple business partners and colleagues
  • Requires communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others
  • Proven analytical skills for developing data analysis and quantitative processes
  • Knowledge of banking products / systems
  • Understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/ or area of expertise.
  • Frequently involved with a variety of broad based and complex issues requiring conceptual thinking.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience within corporate functions, finance or regulatory industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint and Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree 
  • 2+ years of experience within a Capital Planning capacity for a financial institution
